Job description

The intent of this job description is to provide a summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed in this job. Incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations, financial performance, and staff leadership of assigned clinics and affiliated practices across Riverside and San Diego counties. This role works closely with clinic managers, physicians, and administrative leadership to ensure clinics operate efficiently, meet performance goals, and maintain a high level of patient care.


Rancho Health is a growing, physician-led healthcare organization serving communities across Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, and Ventura counties. Our organization includes primary care, urgent care, and specialty services, and continues to expand through new clinic development and partnerships with affiliated practices. Rancho Health focuses on improving patient access to care while supporting providers and clinic teams with strong operational infrastructure.


The Operations Manager will support this growth by helping clinics operate smoothly, addressing operational challenges, monitoring financial performance, and implementing process improvements as needed. This role will also support affiliated practices to ensure alignment with Rancho Health’s operational standards.


Frequent travel between Riverside and San Diego counties is required to provide in-person support, collaborate with clinic teams, and address operational needs.

Clinic Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of assigned clinics and affiliated practices.
  • Support clinic managers with operational issues, staffing needs, and workflow improvements.
  • Ensure clinics follow organizational policies, procedures, and operational standards.
  • Conduct regular site visits to support clinic teams and monitor operations.


Financial Performance

  • Monitor clinic financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and operational costs.
  • Review financial and operational reports to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Support budget management and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Collaborate with leadership and finance teams to address performance gaps.


Affiliate Practice Support

  • Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned affiliated practices.
  • Support the integration of new practices, services, and operational workflows.
  • Ensure affiliated practices align with Rancho Health operational standards.


Provider & Clinical Support

  • Partner with physicians and providers to support clinic operations and efficiency.
  • Assist with provider scheduling, clinic flow, and productivity initiatives.
  • Address operational concerns that impact patient care or clinic performance.


Staff Leadership

  • Provide guidance and support to clinic managers and administrative staff.
  • Assist with recruitment, onboarding, and performance management as needed.
  • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and team-oriented work environment.


Quality, Compliance & Operational Improvement

  • Ensure clinics operate in compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational policies.
  • Support quality improvement and patient experience initiatives.
  • Monitor operational metrics such as patient access, clinic flow, and service quality.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve workflows, processes, and operational efficiency.
  • Support implementation of new initiatives, technologies, and organizational projects.

Required education and experience: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Minimum Education required: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field.

Minimum Experience Required:

  • Minimum of five (5) years of healthcare operations experience, preferably in ambulatory care, medical group operations, or multi-site clinic management.
  • Experience overseeing clinic operations and supporting clinic management teams.
  • Experience reviewing financial and operational performance reports.
  • Experience working with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
  • Ability to manage multiple clinic locations and operational priorities.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt, or other process improvement certification.
  • Experience leading process improvement or workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Experience supporting practice integrations, clinic expansions, or operational growth initiatives.
  • Familiarity with value-based care programs, IPA relationships, or risk-based contracts.
  • Experience working in multi-site or rapidly growing healthcare organizations.


Minimum Knowledge and Skills Required:

  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual in English-Spanish is a plus.
  • Ability to manage multiple clinic locations and operational priorities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel regularly between Riverside and San Diego counties.
