Job description

Team Red Dog is hiring a Communications Operations Manager for our client, a global productivity and collaboration leader and Fortune 50 technology leader. This role sits at the intersection of communications operations, workflow automation, SharePoint administration, AI enablement, and enterprise content publishing, helping shape how critical employee and executive communications are delivered at scale. The successful candidate will own communications platforms and systems, design repeatable workflows, and drive automation initiatives that improve efficiency, consistency, and engagement across a global organization. This is a highly visible opportunity to influence the future of enterprise communications while partnering closely with communications leaders and stakeholders across the business.

Top Required Skills (Must Haves):

  1. Enterprise Communications Platforms (7+ years) – Deep hands-on experience managing and optimizing SharePoint, intranet environments, email communications, Viva Engage, and related publishing platforms used for large-scale employee communications.
  2. Workflow Automation & Process Design (3+ years) – Experience designing and implementing automated workflows using Power Automate or similar tools to support content intake, approvals, publishing, distribution, reporting, and communications operations.
  3. Communications Operations & Content Systems Management (7+ years) – Proven ownership of communications or marketing operations systems, including publishing workflows, governance, content lifecycle management, and scalable communications delivery processes.
  4. AI Enablement & Operational Excellence – Experience applying AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot or similar technologies to improve content production, reporting, knowledge management, and communications workflows.

Opportunity Overview:

This role offers a unique opportunity to build and scale the operating model behind enterprise marketing and employee communications for one of the world's most recognized technology organizations. Rather than focusing on traditional project management activities, this position centers on designing communications systems, improving publishing workflows, implementing automation, and driving AI-enabled transformation. The work directly impacts how information is delivered across SharePoint, email, Viva Engage, and other communication channels, creating meaningful visibility and influence across the organization.

How you will make an impact:
• Own end-to-end operations of communications platforms including SharePoint, email communications, Viva Engage, surveys, and reporting tools.
• Manage communications publishing workflows across multiple channels while ensuring consistency, quality, and accuracy.
• Design and implement scalable content intake, approval, publishing, and distribution processes.
• Build and maintain workflow automation solutions using Power Automate and Microsoft 365 technologies.
• Identify manual processes and redesign them into efficient, automated systems.
• Drive AI adoption across communications workflows through tools such as Microsoft Copilot.
• Partner with communications leaders to translate messaging strategies into scalable execution plans.
• Establish standards for content governance, publishing, formatting, and channel usage.
• Own communications calendars, publishing schedules, dependencies, and stakeholder coordination.
• Develop reporting frameworks and measurement strategies across communications programs and channels.
• Analyze engagement data and provide actionable insights to improve communications effectiveness.
• Create documentation, operating procedures, and repeatable processes that enable long-term scale and efficiency.
• Support budget tracking processes and establish standardized tools and templates for communications programs and events.
• Continuously evaluate and improve communications systems, workflows, and operational models.

The expertise you bring:
• 7+ years of experience in communications operations, marketing operations, communications systems management, or related program management roles.
• Strong hands-on experience managing SharePoint and enterprise communications platforms.
• Experience designing and implementing operational systems and workflows at scale.
• Demonstrated expertise with Power Automate or similar workflow automation technologies.
• Experience supporting content publishing, communications governance, and multi-channel communications delivery.
• Strong process design and systems-thinking capabilities.
• Experience applying AI tools to improve operational workflows and communications effectiveness.
• Ability to operate independently while managing multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience developing reporting frameworks, performance metrics, and operational insights.
• Familiarity with Microsoft 365 communications ecosystem including SharePoint, Viva Engage, Power Platform, and Copilot technologies.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Prior Microsoft experience is highly preferred.

What makes a candidate highly successful in this role:

Strong candidates demonstrate ownership of enterprise communications systems rather than simply supporting communications projects. They can clearly describe communications platforms, publishing environments, or workflow architectures they have designed, improved, or scaled, including content intake, approval, publishing, and distribution processes. Experience leveraging AI and automation to transform communications operations, combined with executive communications exposure and a track record of improving efficiency across large organizations, will distinguish top performers. Candidates with backgrounds in internal communications operations, marketing operations, content operations, digital workplace management, or intranet ownership tend to align particularly well with the objectives of this role.
