Summary

We are seeking a Planner to join our dynamic team at APM. This role is essential in ensuring efficient production processes and inventory management, directly contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality products to our customers. The position is based in the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Generate shop floor travelers from customer drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements.
  • Develop clear, step-by-step manufacturing operation sequences to support successful part fabrication.
  • Review the planning dashboard daily to monitor job status, priorities, and production flow, and release travelers to the shop floor in alignment with production schedules and manufacturing readiness.
  • Identify outside processing requirements and provide detailed instructions to suppliers to ensure proper part processing.
  • Identify proper inspection steps throughout the manufacturing process to ensure product quality.
  • Develop tooling and fixtures as shop aids for welding, assembly, and related manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain BOMs and routing data within the ERP system.
  • Create drawing-based shop aids to ensure clear understanding of process steps for shop floor operators.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards, ITAR, DFARS, customer specifications, and aerospace quality requirements.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Radan (2D) or equivalent nesting software, and CNC toolpath programming for 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining.
  • Knowledge of CNC machining setup processes for 3, 4, and 5-axis equipment.
  • Familiarity with CNC turning methods, machining tolerances, and precision manufacturing practices.
  • Strong understanding of sheet metal manufacturing theory, fabrication processes, and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of CNC machining, tooling, fixturing, sheet metal fabrication, welding, finishing, and assembly processes.
  • Interpret customer engineering drawings, specifications, GD&T requirements, and technical data packages to define manufacturing processes and operation sequences.
  • Proficiency with CAD software including SolidWorks and CATIA.
  • Advanced knowledge of manufacturing materials including metals, castings, forgings, tubing, extrusions, and sheet/plate materials.
  • Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles.
  • Experience working with ERP/MRP systems, BOMs and work instructions.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing specifications including MIL, SAE, ASTM, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 quality systems and aerospace manufacturing requirements.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in demand planning and production planning within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control principles and practices.
  • Familiarity with SAP or similar enterprise resource planning systems is preferred.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
