The main difference between an Aerospace Intern and an Aerospace Engineer lies in experience, responsibilities, and credentials. Interns are typically students gaining exposure, while engineers are fully qualified professionals responsible for complex projects.

What are Aerospace Interns?

Aerospace Interns are students or recent graduates who work temporarily in aerospace companies or organizations to gain practical experience in the field. They assist engineers, scientists, or project managers with tasks such as research, design, testing, and documentation related to aircraft, spacecraft, satellites, or related systems. These internships provide hands-on experience, exposure to real-world projects, and networking opportunities, often serving as a stepping stone to full-time aerospace careers.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Aerospace Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Aerospace Intern, you generally need foundational knowledge in aerospace engineering or a related discipline, along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, often supported by progress toward a relevant degree. Familiarity with technical tools such as CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks or CATIA), MATLAB, and simulation platforms is highly valuable. Strong communication, adaptability, and teamwork abilities help interns contribute effectively and learn from experienced professionals. These skills and qualities are essential for successfully supporting complex projects and gaining practical experience in the aerospace industry.
