Job Duties
  • Evaluates manufacturing processes, designs new systems and processes for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Prepare manufacturing proposals and estimates for new products including tooling cost requirements, and manufacturing resources.
  • Participates actively and effectively in continuous improvement plans related to position responsibilities
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles.
  • Ensures compliance of practices, procedures and instructions relative to applicable facility standards (ISO, TS, etc.);
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by management.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS policy CEVPL.00005.
  • The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Quality Management System (QMS) as stated in CQAM.00001 - Corporate Quality Manual.
  • Creation of facility launch timeline
  • Participates in design reviews to support and enforce design for manufacturing
  • Creation of launch core documents (Process Flow, PFMEA) through PPAP
  • Responsible for manufacturing process design
  • RFMEA completion at equipment integrator and at facility once equipment has arrived.
  • Support corporate advanced assembly engineer in secondary tooling approval milestones
  • Ensures tooling is tagged according to customer requirements with photo evidence
  • Supports corporate packaging engineer in review and approval of WIP and FNG packaging
  • Responsible for ensuring all SCCAF requirements related to error proofing are met
  • Creation of Red Rabbits
  • Responsible for production assembly processing through Phase 3 PPAP
  • Responsible for ensuring all process equipment requiring calibration is entered in facilities calibration system
  • Responsible for training of production associates through all Phased PPAP build events
  • Supports establishment of Rate of Climb (Ramp Plan) charting

Requirements
  • BS Degree or equivalent related experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 3-5 years' experience preferable in plastic injection molding
  • Knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Proficiency in engineering computer software (CAD, CATIA, NX etc.)
  • Must be a self-starter able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Strong planning and time management skills.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on a "hands on" approach.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles and practices preferred.
  • Must be detail oriented.

  • Some travel may be required.
  • Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals.
  • Overtime as required.
  • Weekend work may be required.
  • May be exposed to hazards associated with manufacturing.
