The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer supports new product introduction (NPI) by designing and implementing manufacturing tooling, specifying and installing production equipment, and developing fabrication and weld processes. This role works handson with the shop floor to ensure new products are launched safely, on time, and at target cost and quality.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field

Experience: 3 years of Manufacturing Engineering or related hands-on manufacturing experience. Involvement in tooling/fixturing design or fab and weld is a plus.

Travel: Up to 25%

Work Schedule: This is a hybrid work schedule. Typical work hours are between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Works a sufficient schedule to meet the expectations of the role.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

New Product Tooling & Process Development

  • Design and develop manufacturing tooling, fixtures, jigs, weld fixtures, and aids to support new product launches
  • Collaborate with Design Engineering to provide Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) feedback
  • Support prototype, pilot, and production builds; identify and resolve manufacturing issues

Equipment Acquisition & Installation

  • Specify, justify, and support the purchase of new manufacturing equipment and tooling
  • Coordinate equipment installation, commissioning, and validation on the production floor
  • Work with suppliers, integrators, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure proper setup and compliance

Fabrication & Welding Support

  • Develop and document fabrication and weld processes, including weld sequencing, fixturing, and work instructions
  • Support weld process qualification and troubleshooting (MIG, TIG, fixtured weldments, etc.)
  • Partner with quality teams on weld inspections, defect reduction, and continuous improvement

Continuous Improvement & Production Support

  • Support daily production by addressing tooling, equipment, and process-related issues
  • Participate in lean and continuous improvement projects to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost
  • Assist with PFMEAs, control plans, and standard work documentation
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned.
