Manufacturing Engineer - ENT
Indianapolis, IN | 1st Shift: 6:00 AM - 4:30 PM
About the Role
Join a high-impact team as a Manufacturing Engineer - ENT, where you'll be an essential driver of equipment reliability and production efficiency on the plant floor. In this hands-on role, you'll respond rapidly to urgent plant issues, lead process improvements, and champion safety and quality initiatives. This opportunity offers exposure to advanced manufacturing technologies, career growth potential, and the chance for conversion to a permanent Carrier role based on performance.
Responsibilities
- Respond urgently to equipment downtime and plant emergencies, acting as the technical expert during unplanned events
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and tooling issues, supporting maintenance, tool room, and production teams
- Plan and implement repairs, modifications, and improvements to manufacturing equipment and tooling
- Lead Kaizen events to drive line output, efficiency, and process innovation
- Develop and enforce preventive maintenance procedures to maximize equipment uptime
- Ensure equipment is safely released to production following repairs or maintenance
- Utilize maintenance and tooling management systems, purchase order systems, and related planning tools
- Recommend and implement cost reduction, quality, safety, and ergonomic improvements
- Model and promote adherence to OSHA and Carrier environmental, health, and safety policies
- Build positive relationships with union representatives, adhering to Collective Bargaining Agreements
Required Skills and Experience
- Associate's degree in a relevant technical field
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment and tooling
- Strong knowledge of preventive and corrective maintenance practices
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations (e.g., OSHA)
- Experience working on a production floor environment
