Administrative Associate - Cancer Center

Position at Norwalk Hospital Association

Title: Administrative Associate - Cancer Center - Norwalk Hospital - Norwalk, CT - Full Time - Monday through Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm

Summary:

Support the Director and department with administrative and clerical functions to promote efficient and effective operations. Coordinate patient activities such as schedule appointments, file documents, answer phone calls, and respond to inquiries.

Responsibilities:

1. Answers phone calls, and responds to basic questions. 2. Provides administrative support by disseminating information to department. 3. Prepares patient chart prior to appointment, and obtains pertinent documents. 4. Schedules patient appointments for genetics, nutrition, nurse navigators. 5. Organizes chart, identifies and files relevant documents. 6. Mails pre-appointment documents and consults notes. 7. Scans documents to ordering providers and insurance companies as needed. 8. Logs phone calls and documents in Excel. 9. Orders Cancer Center supportive services patient resources/educational materials. 10. Follows Hospital policies and procedures. 11. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position. 12. Performs other duties as assigned.

Education Skills Experience:

High School graduate. Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power Point. Works on multiple projects. Strong written and verbal communication, and organizational skills. Requires 3+ years experience providing administrative support. Associates Degree preferred.
