Administrative Assistant Description

South College Asheville Campus is seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to join the team! The Administrative Assistant is a steward for students, employees, and visitors to the campus in addition to building and room access control, the person serves as the overall South College public ambassador.


Responsibilities:

Reception in Faculty Area

  • Answer the telephone and email correspondence
  • Direct calls to proper staff or faculty.
  • Take/transfer messages.
  • Receive and distribute student messages for emergencies only.
  • Assist visitors - determine who they need to see and direct them to that person.

Administrative

  • Word Processing
  • Produce special correspondence and projects for the Academic Programs
  • Produce routine reports and projects for Academic Programs.
  • Proofread documents as requested.
  • Copy and distribute documents as requested.

Computer/Data Entry

  • Print lists/reports from CAMPUS as requested by faculty
  • Assist faculty with test generation and other documents as necessary.
  • General Clerical
  • Sort and distribute interoffice mail to instructors.
  • Assist with setting advising appointments for faculty
