Job Title: Cloud Systems Administrator Location: Arlington, VA (On-Site) Clearance: Active TS/SCI Required Company: Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) Compensation: Open Rate Position Overview Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to support the rapid deployment, operation, and sustainment of secure cloud-based engagement kits used for cyber incident response and threat hunting operations. This role directly supports mission-critical cybersecurity efforts by ensuring analysts have reliable, scalable, and secure cloud environments available to investigate cyber threats affecting Federal agencies, state and local governments, and critical infrastructure organizations. The selected candidate will be responsible for day-to-day administration, maintenance, monitoring, and operational support of cloud engagement kits while ensuring system availability, performance, and security.

This position requires strong technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, systems administration, troubleshooting, and operational support within fastpaced cybersecurity environments. Key Responsibilities • Deploy, configure, and maintain cloud-based engagement kits within established operational timelines following government approval. • Administer cloud infrastructure supporting cyber incident response and threat hunting operations.

• Apply system updates, security patches, and configuration changes to cloud environments. • Monitor system health, performance metrics, resource utilization, and operational readiness. • Perform real-time troubleshooting, issue resolution, and remediation during active cyber operations.

• Manage cloud resources including compute, storage, networking, monitoring, and security services. • Ensure all engagement kit tools, services, and environments remain operational and meet mission requirements. • Maintain accurate system documentation, configuration records, and operational procedures.

• Coordinate secure decommissioning and termination of cloud engagement kits following mission completion. • Support data archival activities and engagement closeout procedures. • Implement and maintain continuous monitoring capabilities across cloud environments.

• Respond to service outages, system failures, and operational incidents while coordinating recovery efforts. • Manage user accounts, access controls, permissions, and identity management functions. • Collaborate with cybersecurity analysts, incident responders, engineers, and stakeholders to support mission execution.

• Support operational readiness by validating system functionality and ensuring cloud environments remain secure and available. Mandatory Skills • U.S. Citizenship.

• Active TS/SCI clearance. • Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD) Suitability. • Minimum of 3+ years of experience administering cloud-based systems, preferably within AWS environments.

• Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix and Windows server administration. • Experience administering AWS services including: EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch • Understanding of networking concepts including: TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, and Firewalls. • Familiarity with cloud security best practices and compliance requirements.

• Experience utilizing monitoring, logging, and performance management tools. • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced, mission-critical operational environments.

• Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills. Preferred Skills • Experience supporting cyber incident response, threat hunting, or cybersecurity operations. • Experience utilizing configuration management and automation tools such as: Ansible, Puppet, and Chef.
