Job description

Machine Operator (2nt Shift: 6:00 PMโ€“6:00 AM)
Monday-Thursday / Monday - Wednesday Rotation
Pay Range: $21.00 per hour plus $1.75 shift differential
Join Duraco Specialty Materials as a Machine Operator and help produce high-quality adhesive-coated materials used in products people rely on every day. This is a hands-on opportunity to build valuable skills, work with specialized equipment, and contribute to a team that values safety, quality, and dependable performance.
In this role, you will set up and operate adhesive coating equipment, monitor production quality, and help keep work moving efficiently from start to finish. You will work closely with teammates to solve routine issues, complete production tasks accurately, and maintain a safe and organized environment.
Previous manufacturing or machine operation experience is helpful, but success in this role also comes from being dependable, mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and eager to learn. If you take pride in doing quality work and want an opportunity with room to grow, you may be a great fit for our team.
Education and/or Experience
A high school diploma or GED is required. Experience in manufacturing or machine operation is preferred, and a background in math, mechanics, or related technical work is helpful.
Summary: The Machine Operator runs an emulsion acrylic adhesive coating machine that applies pressure-sensitive adhesive to rolls of paper, film, and foil while supporting safe, efficient, and high-quality production.
What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Set up and operate coating equipment for each job, including loading face paper and backing substrate, positioning materials correctly, and adjusting machine settings such as speed, adhesive flow, and oven temperature.
  • Inspect materials before, during, and after production by checking patterns, dimensions, and coated rolls, taking measurements with tools such as calipers and rulers, and providing required samples to Quality Assurance.
  • Keep production running smoothly by identifying and resolving minor equipment or process issues, stopping production when specifications are not met, and escalating larger concerns to the Supervisor as needed.
  • Complete machine start-up and shut-down tasks, maintain accurate production reports and roll labels, and support inventory, shipping, or downstream processes.
  • Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work area, operate equipment such as a forklift or clamp truck when needed, and contribute ideas that improve processes and equipment performance.
What Helps You Succeed
  • You enjoy hands-on work and are comfortable in an active manufacturing environment.
  • You pay close attention to detail and can follow instructions, measurements, and safety procedures carefully.
  • You communicate clearly, work well with others, and are motivated to learn and grow.
  • You can read and interpret written information, complete reports accurately, and work with basic numerical data.
  • You value quality, productivity, safety, and reliable attendance in a fast-paced setting.
  • You are comfortable using basic computer tools, including barcode and label-printing systems, as well as keyboard or scanner-based data entry.
  • You can meet the physical demands of the role, including standing for extended periods, frequent use of hands and arms, and occasionally lifting up to 100 pounds in a loud industrial environment with moving mechanical parts.
