Job description

Position Requirements:
Perform duties to changeover and operate automatic bonding equipment to produce a variety of friction plates.
Work from prints, die installation procedures, process control plan, packing procedures, inspection procedure.
  • Change over automatic bonding machine, check dies for wear and position, and bolt dies in place
  • Adjust drop gauge on machine in order to check plates for proper thickness and flatness
  • Check and set machine for proper pressure, temperature and hold time, and adjust feed arms as necessary
  • Call up and check program for required machine process flow and check hydraulic system for leaks
  • Operate machines, load paper facings and friction plates on machine spindles, check first run sample parts for defects, proper thickness, bonding and paper alignment on plate.
  • Monitor machine for proper operation, check and maintain machines oil levels, and make adjustments as necessary to ensure parts meet established quality standards
  • Inspect parts as specified and log data as required
  • Prepare production and scrap reports
  • Shrink wrap and pack completed friction plates as specified
  • Order machine parts, oil and packing materials as needed
  • Move material to area and finished units from area
  • Notify supervisor of unusual part or equipment problems

Use automatic and bond machine, test fixture, fixed gauges, calculator, thickness gauge, forklift truck, data entry terminal, and hand tools.
Follow safety rules and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Pay Rate: $19.83-28.40

• Employees with less than one year of service are only eligible to bid on higher-paying labor grade positions.
• Employees with more than one year of service will receive first consideration.
• Employees in a Disciplinary Step 1 are eligible to bid on any job.
• Employees in Step 2 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.
• Employees in Step 3 are eligible to bid on any job after 1 year.
• If an employee accepted a new position, they cannot bid on the same or lower paying labor grade for 1 year.
• If you were previously forced out of this job classification and are interested in returning to the position, you must complete a job bidding form.
• This Position requires that you be able to Read and Write English.
