Ad Operations & Automation Lead

Attain

Chicago, IL โ€ข On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 5 days ago

Job description

About Attain
Built for consumers and companies, alike. In a world driven by data, we believe consumers and businesses can coexist. Our founders had a vision to empower consumers to leverage their greatest asset-their data-in exchange for modern financial services. Built with this vision in mind, our platform allows consumers to access savings tools, earned wages and rewards without cost or hidden fees. In exchange, they give permission to use their real-time data for research, insights and targeted advertising.
At Attain, your contribution will help us build a more equitable and efficient data sharing ecosystem-whether helping consumers access modern financial services or businesses leverage data to achieve better outcomes. You'll have the opportunity to work directly with hands-on leaders and mission-driven individuals every day.
We are hiring this role to be based out of either Chicago, IL or New York, NY. At the moment, we are targeting candidates who are currently based in those markets. Thank you for understanding!
About the Role
The Ad Operations & Automation Lead is the technical subject matter expert within Client Services. You will own complex escalations, manage our offshore Ad Ops team, and drive enablement across CS, directly enabling client retention and revenue growth. Beyond day-to-day technical ownership, you'll focus on scaling the quality and depth of service we deliver to clients through AI, automation, and process design, in close partnership with our Product team.
What You'll Do
Technical Escalation & Problem-Solving
  • Own complex escalations across pixel/tag implementation, DSP setup (TTD, DV360, etc.), and PMP configuration, acting as the peer review point before issues reach Product.
  • Partner with CS on client communications and JIRA escalations through resolution; provide additional support for high-value, multi-partner advertisers.
CS Enablement & Knowledge Sharing
  • Serve as the primary knowledge resource for CS on measurement and ad ops by creating playbooks, training materials, and running 1:1s to build team autonomy.
PMP Ownership
  • Take over management of PMP optimization responsibilities.
  • Ensure deal health, pacing, and performance; proactively surface issues and build tooling to expedite increases in usage.
AI & Automation
  • Own Attain's CS AI tooling and champion automation adoption by identifying manual workflows and partnering with Product to build tooling that eliminates or accelerates resolution.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships across CS, Sales, and Product/Engineering; serve as the CS-side SME in client conversations and design scalable processes with leadership.
  • Directly manage and develop the offshore Ad Ops team (4 team members) by running weekly syncs, setting priorities, QA-ing output, and driving accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years in ad operations, programmatic, or digital media execution as the technical owner of campaigns or ad operations, including senior IC or manager experience.
  • Deep technical fluency-equally comfortable talking a client through a discrepancy report or advising on implementation strategy across DSPs, SSPs, PMPs, and ad servers.
  • Direct experience troubleshooting pixel/tag issues using browser dev tools, Charles, or similar; familiarity with HTML, JavaScript, and server-side or API-based integrations a plus.
  • Experience managing or working with offshore resources.
  • Clear communicator-can translate technical issues into plain language for CS, sellers, and clients, and write clear instructions for Product and Engineering.
  • Process-oriented: builds systems, not just solves one-off problems.
  • Prior experience in a measurement, data, or ad tech company in a technical function required.
What a Typical Week Might Look Like
  • Triaging and resolving escalations from CS and offshore Ad Ops on pixel/tag issues, DSP setups, and PMP deal health.
  • Running a weekly sync with the offshore team-reviewing QA output, setting priorities, and coaching on complex cases.
  • Meeting with Associate Directors of Client Services to understand knowledge gaps and progress ongoing training and playbook development.
  • Reviewing recurring manual workflows and partnering with Product on automation recommendations.
  • Joining a client call with a CS lead to troubleshoot a measurement discrepancy or support a campaign kick-off.
At the End of Your First Year, You'll Have Helped Us
  • Elevated the technical capability of the CS team through structured enablement, playbooks, and hands-on coaching.
  • Built and shipped at least one meaningful automation that reduces manual work across CS or Ad Ops.
  • Established a scalable escalation framework that keeps the majority of issues from reaching Product/Engineering.
  • Driven measurable improvements in PMP deal health and performance.

We're excited to hear from you.
At Attain, we are passionate about finding people to continuously help us grow our organization. We encourage you to apply, even if your experience doesn't match every detail of the job description. If we don't see something that immediately fits, we will keep your resume on file for future opportunities.
