Join Our Team as We Open a Brand-New Building at our North Mankato Campus!
Birchwood Cottages is growing-and we're excited to be opening anew memory care building! We are now hiring compassionate, dependable team members who want to be part of something special from the very beginning.
At Birchwood Cottages, our mission is simple: to provide high-quality, person-centered care for individuals living with memory loss in a warm, home-like environment. As we open another building at our North Mankato campus, and we're looking for staff who share our heart for seniors and our commitment to meaningful care.
Primary Job Purpose:

The Engagement Aide assists with the planning and implementation of activities for the residents of Birchwood Cottages which enhance the mental, emotional, physical, spiritual and social needs.

Job Duties:

Assist in the planning, developing, organizing, and implementation of all resident's activities

Develop suggestions and ideas for improving and expanding the Activities Program

Maintains a professional, warm and caring relationship with residents and families

Establish and maintains good community relations and contacts with the community

Assist Residents to and from activities

Escorts for residents to and from community activities

Attend required on-going in-service training sessions and orientation

Responds to resident's needs. Initiates, conducts and facilitates programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interactions, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity and spiritual connection

Demonstrates therapeutic conversation and redirection conversation with residents, offering appropriate cues

Ability to manage difficult resident behaviors

Responsibilities of all Birchwood Cottages Staff

Provide residents and families, with individualized attention and the highest level of customer service.

Maintain proper phone and customer services etiquette.

Be creative with resident care and services to make individual allowances for disease progression.

Understand that all actions and comments are a direct reflection of Birchwood Cottages.

Understand and have working knowledge of caring for those with memory loss including proper and dignified communication.

Accept, understand, and treat all residents with dignity regardless of disease diagnosis, progression, and manifestation.
