Join our team as Manager, Activities in our Recreation Therapy Department, located in Wabasha, MN and be the change you want to see in the world.
What's Available:
  • 1.0 FTE (40 hours/week)
  • This will typically be scheduled day shift hours, may include occasional weekend or holiday coverage

  • Salary range of $ 46,592 - 68,224 per year, based on experience.

What you will do:
  • Provide LOVE + MEDICINE to our patients and residents
  • To direct the development, implementation, supervision and ongoing evaluation of the activities program to ensure the activities meet the needs of individual residents and the residents as a whole.
  • Serve in a day-to-day leadership role, supporting staff through problem-solving, sustaining change, and responding to ideas and concerns
  • Lead approximately 10 direct reports (Activity Assistants/ CNAs) - including providing support for staff development, performance management, and adherence to quality standards
  • Partner with a team of medical professionals, and other leaders who are here to support your success and that of our patients & residents in their health journeys.

What you need:
  • A graduate of a state approved Activity Coordinator's course; or maybe a registered Therapeutic Recreation Specialist, TRS, certified by the National Therapeutic Recreation Society; or a certified Occupational Therapist, OTR, registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association; or a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, COTA, certified by the American Occupational Therapy Association; or a college graduate in a related field of study approved by the state licensing agency with certification as an Activity Director from the National Certification Council of Activity Professionals (NCCAD).
  • Minnesota Certification Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification required within six (6) months of hire *unless COTA or OTR.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers within six (6) months.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
