Job Description

The Production Control Manager is responsible for overseeing Production Control, Production Scheduling, and Logistics functions for the Howard Lake operation. The position manages all Bill of Materials (BOM) processing, shop floor reporting, and materials forecasting to support JustInTime manufacturing and efficient production flow. It leads production scheduling and capacity planning activities to balance backlog, manufacturing constraints, and customer lead times. The role also oversees inbound and outbound logistics, including freight routing, carrier management, cost control, and invoice reconciliation. In addition, this position drives continuous improvement initiatives, enforces company policies and procedures, serves as backup for the Supervisor as needed. This position reports directly to the Sr. Director Materials, Premium.

Responsibilities:

  • Production Control/BOM
    • Overseeing all Bill of Materials processing functions, including daily processing & BOM maintenance of component level detail and machine file generations.
    • Managing all shop floor reporting, optimizations and cut list.   
    • Management of all J.I.T. reporting for Materials Buyers as well as BOM data for materials forecasting.
  • Production Scheduling
    • Management of all Production Scheduling functions for Howard Lake.
    • Management of all capacity planning parameters to adhere to manufacturing constraints.
    • Projects the backlog and recommends production load adjustments.
    • Monitors and maintains current customer lead times.
  • Logistics
    • Oversees all inbound and outbound freight activity for Howard Lake, and working collaboratively with Iowa operations on cross docking and back hauls.
    • Creates all outbound freight routes and tenders out to preferred carries while maintaining best cost.
    • Reconciles freight invoices for approval and responsible for freight spend.
    • Maintains relationships from with outside carriers.  
  • Other
    • Projects - initiate continuous improvement opportunities within the area
    • Enforce Company policy and procedure on a daily basis
    • Backup for supervisor when they are not available/or absent
    • Consistently demonstrate Masterbrand's Success Model: Make the Team Better, Be Bold & Champion Improvement
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned at management's discretion. (Required)
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of supervisory experience is required, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is minimally required.
  • Experience with SQL and/or Access tools strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with CAD/BOM and product pricing tools is preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or supply chain is highly preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve product and system-related issues effectively.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Strong attention to detail and process-oriented mindset.
  • A proactive problem-solver who takes initiative to enhance customer satisfaction.
  • A dedicated team player and brand ambassador, eager to support the company's growth and success.
