Staffing Coordinator

Overview

Brinton Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is seeking a highly organized and dependable Staffing Coordinator to join our team. In this vital role, you will oversee daily staffing operations to ensure our residents receive exceptional care through appropriate staffing coverage across all departments and shifts.

The ideal candidate is a strong communicator with excellent organizational skills who thrives in a fast-paced healthcare environment. This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting both our residents and our dedicated healthcare team.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily staffing schedules for nursing, CNA, and support staff to ensure adequate coverage on all shifts.

  • Respond promptly to call-offs, last-minute schedule changes, and staffing shortages by contacting available employees and approved staffing agencies.

  • Maintain accurate staffing schedules, attendance records, and scheduling documentation using scheduling and HR software.

  • Collaborate closely with the Director of Nursing, department managers, and supervisors to anticipate staffing needs and proactively resolve coverage gaps.

  • Monitor staffing levels to ensure compliance with federal, state, CMS, and facility staffing requirements.

  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with staffing agencies, per diem staff, and internal team members.

  • Assist with monitoring overtime and scheduling practices to promote operational efficiency.

  • Communicate schedule updates clearly and professionally with staff and leadership.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in staffing coordination, scheduling, or workforce management preferred.

  • Experience in a skilled nursing facility, long-term care, rehabilitation center, or healthcare setting is preferred but not required.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to remain calm, professional, and solution-oriented in a fast-paced environment.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

  • Experience with scheduling or HRIS software is a plus.

  • Knowledge of CMS regulations, staffing requirements, and labor laws is preferred or the willingness to learn.
