Boise Cascade is Now accepting applications for Management Associate (Trainee) for our Western Oregon Region in Medford and White City.

This role offers a structured pathway to grow your career through rotational assignments, job shadowing, and hands-on leadership experience in our manufacturing operations. Position Information
The Management Associate position provides the opportunity and environment to develop a broad, comprehensive knowledge of the business and gain the skills and experience needed to prepare for future leadership roles. This includes on-the-job training, job shadowing key leadership positions, and exposure to business and plant operations. Candidates must demonstrate the competencies and potential to progress into targeted leadership production roles, including Production Supervisor, Superintendent, and Manager positions.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform manufacturing competency and career development assignments as outlined on the two (2) year Management Trainee Plan.
  • Engage in rotational assignments to gain an in-depth understanding of company operations including:
    • Six (6) month assignments at three (3) different manufacturing plants within the Western Oregon Region
    • Six (6) months working with Industrial Engineers in the Boise Improvement Cycle (BIC) department.
  • Job shadow assigned plant leadership to observe and learn roles and responsibilities.
  • Work as a Shift Supervisor (various shifts as needed at each assigned plant location) to gain manufacturing and leadership experience.
  • Attend learning sessions with department managers to gain exposure to: BIC, quality control, log procurement, accounting, safety, environmental, IT, engineering, HR, and others as assigned.
  • Participate in assigned training and development sessions.
  • Engage in project work to contribute to company goals and apply learned skills.
  • Demonstrate commitment to continuous learning and competency development aligned with core values.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education & Experience
Education: College degree, or equivalent work experience in related job function. Bachelor's degree or technical degree in business administration, engineering, forestry, or wood science preferred.
Experience: Two (2) years' experience in a Lead or Supervisor role/capacity is required, five (5) years is preferred. Eperience in manufacturing or wood products working in a plant environment is highly preferred. Candidates must be willing to work flexible schedules and travel to multiple worksite locations in Medford and White City Oregon.
