87,200 - 106,600

About the role

We're looking for a Accounting Specialist for our growing team!
What you'll do here:

  • Contribute to the production and distribution of various quarterly and annual reports, primarily to the regulatory authorities of all Canadian insurance companies.
  • Participate in the monthly closing process including performance and documentation of related internal controls.
  • Take part in various projects that may deal with complex topics and be able to anticipate their impacts on regulatory reporting.
  • Participate in the preparation of detailed analyses including the quarterly analytical review.
  • Participate in process standardization, simplification and automation initiatives.
  • Participate in the continuous improvement of deliverables according to the evolving needs of our internal and external partners.
  • Assist in facilitating the audit process and liaise with internal and external auditors.
  • Perform other related duties (pension fund accounting, ad-hoc management requests, etc.).


What you bring to the table:

  • CPA accounting designation
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in accounting and accounting standards (IFRS)
  • Strong oral, written and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects simultaneously and challenge ways of doing things.
  • Fast learning capability and agility
  • Strong analytical, synthesis and rigor skills
  • Leadership, team spirit, autonomy and efficiency
  • Ability to interact with people at all levels of the organization, including management and some external stakeholders.
  • Good process documentation skills
  • Intermediate Excel level
  • Knowledge of Oracle and Hyperion is an asset.
  • Knowledge of the property and casualty insurance industry is an asset.
  • Bilingual: French and English, Need to interact on a regular basis with an English-speaking
