Position Overview:

Sagard is seeking a Fund Accounting or Finance Interns to join the Fund Finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to the operational and analytical aspects of fund finance and accounting within a dynamic, multi-strategy investment platform.The internship is designed to give students meaningful experience in fund operations.

This internship is open to current undergraduate or graduate students who are available to work full-time for 8 months from September to April.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with cash management and cash forecasting across multiple funds and investment vehicles

  • Support the preparation of Net Asset Values (NAVs), including the calculation of valuations, expenses, and investor allocations

  • Collaborate with investment teams to analyze fund data and ensure timely, accurate financial reporting

  • Contribute to the development of reporting solutions for both Limited Partners (LPs) and internal stakeholders utilizing Foundry, a Palantir solution

  • Participate in fund performance tracking and support the preparation of management reports and investor deliverables

  • Assist in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in fund accounting operations

  • Gain exposure to the fund lifecycle, including capital calls, distributions, and financial statement preparation

  • Assist in the valuation process; modeling securities, finding comparables, monitoring industry benchmarks of various asset classes as part of the firm's fund valuations

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program in accounting, finance, business, or a related field

  • Strong academic record with demonstrated interest in fund finance, accounting, or investment management

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel and financial modeling is an asset

  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams

  • Prior experience (e.g., internship or co-op) in fund accounting, audit, or asset management is considered an asset

  • For all positions in Quebec, proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. English is required due to regular interaction with colleagues and external partners outside Quebec.

Sagard est a la recherche de stagiaires en comptabilite de fonds ou en finance afin de se joindre a l'equipe de finance des fonds. Ce role offre une occasion unique d'acquerir une experience concrete des aspects operationnels et analytiques de la finance et de la comptabilite de fonds au sein d'une plateforme d'investissement dynamique et multistrategique. Le stage est concu pour offrir aux etudiants une experience significative en operations de fonds.

Ce stage s'adresse aux etudiants actuellement inscrits a un programme de premier cycle ou de cycles superieurs et disponibles pour travailler a temps plein pendant une periode de 8 mois, de septembre a avril.

Responsabilites :

  • Assister a la gestion de la tresorerie et aux previsions de tresorerie pour plusieurs fonds et vehicules d'investissement

  • Soutenir la preparation des valeurs liquidatives (VL), y compris le calcul des valorisations, des charges et des allocations aux investisseurs

  • Collaborer avec les equipes d'investissement afin d'analyser les donnees des fonds et d'assurer une information financiere exacte et produite dans les delais

  • Contribuer a l'elaboration de solutions de reporting destinees aux commanditaires (LP) ainsi qu'aux parties prenantes internes

  • Participer au suivi de la performance des fonds et appuyer la preparation des rapports de gestion et des livrables destines aux investisseurs

  • Aider a l'identification et a la mise en uvre d'ameliorations de processus afin d'accroitre l'efficacite et la fiabilite des operations de comptabilite de fonds

  • Acquerir une exposition au cycle de vie des fonds, notamment les appels de capitaux, les distributions et la preparation des etats financiers

Qualifications :

  • Actuellement inscrit(e) a un programme de premier cycle ou de cycles superieurs en comptabilite, finance, administration des affaires ou dans un domaine connexe

  • Solide dossier academique demontrant un interet marque pour la finance de fonds, la comptabilite ou la gestion des investissements

  • Excellentes competences analytiques et quantitatives; la maitrise d'Excel et de la modelisation financiere constitue un atout

  • Souci du detail, sens de l'organisation et capacite a gerer plusieurs priorites dans un environnement dynamique et exigeant

  • Excellentes aptitudes en communication et en relations interpersonnelles, avec la capacite de travailler de facon collaborative au sein d'equipes multidisciplinaires
