We’re Hiring: Accounting Assistant

Continental Steel & Tube, a well-established steel distribution company serving the industry since 1985, is seeking a reliable, organized, and detail-oriented Accounting Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide day-to-day support to the accounting department and help ensure that financial records and transactions are processed accurately and efficiently.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities.
  • Prepare, process, and record invoices, payments, receipts, and other financial transactions.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounting records and supporting documentation.
  • Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with data entry into accounting and financial systems.
  • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy and proper documentation.
  • Help track outstanding customer balances and vendor payments.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting activities.
  • Prepare basic financial reports and spreadsheets as requested.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical accounting files.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal departments regarding invoices, payments, and account inquiries.
  • Support the accounting team with audits, reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Maintain confidentiality of company and financial information.
  • Qualifications
