Job description

Job Responsibilities

  • Support the preparation and review of quarterly and annual financial statements and related disclosures for multiple entities within the organization.
  • Compile financial reporting packages, account reconciliations, supporting schedules, and other materials required for periodic reporting.
  • Prepare and maintain financial statements, disclosures, reporting packages, and supporting files through Workiva.
  • Maintain reporting calendars, quarterly close procedures, disclosure schedules, and related financial reporting checklists.
  • Perform detailed financial statement tie-outs and disclosure reviews to verify the completeness and accuracy of reported information.
  • Coordinate with external auditors by preparing requested schedules, documentation, and responses to audit questions.
  • Analyze quarterly and year-end financial results, investigate significant fluctuations, and document explanations for material changes.
  • Research accounting matters and assist with the application of U.S. GAAP, GASB, IFRS, and other applicable reporting standards when needed.
  • Help develop and maintain accounting policies, reporting procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with financial reporting controls by maintaining control documentation and ensuring appropriate supporting evidence is retained.
  • Partner with teams across accounting, FP&A, tax, treasury, legal, consolidation, and operations to obtain information required for reporting and audit activities.
  • Evaluate existing reporting processes and identify opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual work, and improve reporting efficiency.
  • Contribute to special finance and accounting initiatives, including system implementations, acquisitions, financing activities, and other strategic projects.
  • Take ownership of assigned responsibilities while maintaining a high level of accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and professionalism.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA certification is preferred; candidates actively working toward CPA certification are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • 4โ€“6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including public accounting, corporate accounting, financial reporting, or a combination of these areas.
  • Public accounting experience, particularly with a Big Four or national accounting firm, is highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing financial statements and supporting external audits.
  • Experience working with multiple legal entities and consolidated financial reporting is preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
  • Familiarity with GASB, IFRS, statutory reporting, or multinational accounting environments is a plus.
  • Advanced proficiency with Workiva, including financial statement preparation, disclosure management, linked data, reporting packages, and reporting workflows.
  • Experience with ERP, consolidation, and financial reporting platforms is preferred.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and financial/data analysis.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments, meet strict reporting deadlines, and remain organized during high-volume close periods.
  • Comfortable working independently while partnering effectively with teams and stakeholders across the organization.
