Job Description:

Position Summary

Lattice Semiconductor Corporation seeks an experienced and technically proficient Assistant Controller to support the Corporate Controller in all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, and internal controls for a high-growth, Nasdaq-listed semiconductor company. This role is a critical senior leadership position within the Finance organization and serves as a key partner to the Corporate Controller and the broader CFO organization.

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in US GAAP technical accounting, SEC financial reporting, and operational accounting gained through a combination of Big 4 public accounting and progressive industry experience at publicly traded companies. This individual will help lead a team of accounting professionals and serve as a subject matter expert on complex accounting matters, including those specific to the semiconductor and technology sector.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Close

  • Assist the Corporate Controller in overseeing the monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close process, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness in accordance with US GAAP and SEC requirements

  • Support preparation and review of consolidated financial statements, including income statement, balance sheet, statement of cash flows, and statement of stockholders' equity

  • Coordinate and review quarterly Form 10-Q and annual Form 10-K filings, including financial statement footnotes and MD&A disclosures

  • Partner with external auditors to manage the annual audit and quarterly review processes

  • Oversee preparation of earnings release financial schedules and support the Investor Relations function during quarterly earnings cycles

Technical Accounting

  • Serve as a primary technical accounting resource for the Company, researching and documenting the accounting treatment for complex, non-routine transactions under US GAAP

  • Lead technical accounting assessments for areas including revenue recognition (ASC 606), leases (ASC 842), stock-based compensation (ASC 718), business combinations (ASC 805), impairment (ASC 350/360), and derivatives/hedging (ASC 815)

  • Monitor new and proposed FASB and SEC standards and assess the impact on Lattice's accounting policies; prepare and present technical memos to senior management and Audit Committee

  • Draft, maintain, and update the Company's accounting policy library

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance, including risk assessment, design and evaluation of internal controls over financial reporting (ICFR), and coordination with internal and external auditors

  • Partner with the internal audit function to identify and remediate control deficiencies; track management's remediation plans to resolution

  • Ensure compliance with SEC rules, regulations, and disclosure requirements

Operational Accounting

  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations across functional areas including general ledger, revenue, accounts payable, payroll accounting, fixed assets, and cost accounting

  • Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses prepared by the accounting team

  • Partner with FP&A on forecasting, budget-to-actual variance analysis, and support management reporting

  • Oversee the accounting integration activities associated with acquisitions, divestitures, and other strategic transactions

  • Oversight, guidance, and interaction with the payroll and stock administration departments

Leadership & Process Improvement

  • Recruit, develop, and mentor a team of accounting professionals; build a high-performance culture with strong retention and succession planning

  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives in accounting processes, systems, and reporting capabilities, including ERP optimization

  • Serve as a cross-functional business partner with Legal, Tax, Treasury, FP&A, and Operations on accounting and financial reporting matters

  • Present accounting analyses and findings to the Corporate Controller, CFO, and Audit Committee as required

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license, active and in good standing, required

  • 10 to 15 years of progressive accounting experience, reflecting increasing scope and responsibility

  • Minimum of 4 years in public accounting at a Big 4 firm (Deloitte, Ernst & Young, KPMG, or PricewaterhouseCoopers), with significant experience in the audit of SEC registrants

  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience at a publicly traded company, with direct accountability for SEC financial reporting and SOX compliance

  • Prior experience in the semiconductor, technology hardware, or high-technology manufacturing sector strongly preferred

  • Deep and current knowledge of US GAAP, SEC reporting rules (Regulation S-X, S-K), and PCAOB auditing standards

  • Proven track record of researching and concluding on complex technical accounting matters and communicating conclusions clearly to non-accounting audiences

  • Strong familiarity with SOX 302/404 requirements and ICFR design and testing

  • Experience with ERP systems required; Oracle experience strongly preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Accounting or MBA

  • Experience at a semiconductor or fabless semiconductor company

  • Prior exposure to international accounting operations, including foreign currency translation/remeasurement and intercompany eliminations in a multi-entity structure

  • Experience with equity plan accounting and administration (Equity Edge Online or similar)

  • Accounting and Reporting Expertise: Recognized authority on US GAAP technical accounting and SEC disclosure requirements

  • Analytical Rigor: Ability to synthesize complex information and reach well-supported, defensible conclusions

  • Leadership: Leads by example; develops talent, sets clear expectations, and holds teams accountable

  • Communication: Communicates complex accounting matters clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing, to a range of audiences including executive leadership and the Audit Committee

  • Integrity and Ethics: Maintains the highest standards of professional conduct and acts as a steward of the Company's internal control environment

  • Execution: Demonstrates strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven, fast-paced public company environment
