Description

 The Accountant II supports the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of Tucoemas Federal Credit Union's financial records and reporting. Under general supervision, this role performs general-ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting support while adhering to internal controls, accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. The position contributes to efficient month-end and year-end close processes, audit and exam readiness, and continuous improvement of accounting processes.

In addition to technical responsibilities, the Accountant II models Tucoemas's core values in every interaction, collaborates effectively across departments, and helps maintain a culture of accountability, teamwork, and service. Through attention to detail, sound judgment, and proactive

problem-solving, this role supports the credit union's financial health, operational effectiveness, and mission to serve members and the community.

Requirements

  •  Bachelor's degree in Business Management. Concentration in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred. Relevant experience can be substituted for education.
  • Working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet recurring deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel (basic formulas and data organization).
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Professional discretion when handling confidential financial information.
  • Prior accounting experience (3+ years required).
