RSG Landscaping is seeking a Production Manager to lead complex landscape maintenance and enhancement operations, oversee a $1M+ annual book of business, and partner closely with branch leadership to grow people, clients, and revenue.
This role is ideal for an experienced landscape professional who has already “been there, done that” and is ready to lead at a higher level.
The Role at a Glance
As a Production Manager, you are the operational backbone of the branch. You will:
- Lead 2–6 service teams with full accountability for performance, safety, and results
- Own execution across maintenance and enhancement work
- Serve as a strategic partner to the Branch Manager and Account Managers
- Act as a mentor, coach, and problem-solver for crew leaders and supervisors
What You’ll Lead & Own
Operational Excellence
- Oversee all landscape maintenance and enhancement services from planning through completion
- Ensure consistent execution aligned with RSG quality, safety, and appearance standards
- Anticipate operational challenges and proactively adjust staffing, schedules, and resources
- Inspect properties, develop action plans, and follow through to completion
- Provide expert oversight of irrigation systems, plant health, and site conditions
- Step into the field when needed to set the standard and keep projects on track
Team Leadership
- Recruit, develop, and retain top‐tier crew leaders and field staff
- Deliver hands‐on coaching, training, and performance feedback
- Build clear expectations, accountability, and career development paths
- Create daily and weekly production plans focused on efficiency and quality
- Champion job site safety and minimize incidents through leadership and training
Financial & Operational Accountability
- Manage labor, materials, and equipment to hit budgeted margins
- Track executed vs. estimated performance and correct issues early
- Oversee timekeeping, scheduling systems, and operational reporting
- Partner with branch administration to maintain accurate job data
Enhancement Sales & Growth
- Identify and capitalize on enhancement opportunities within existing accounts
- Estimate and sell enhancement projects—independently or in partnership with Account Managers
- Help drive branch enhancement goals through operational insight and execution excellence
- Review job performance and continuously improve estimating accuracy
What Sets You Apart
- 5+ years of leadership experience in landscaping, grounds management, or a related field
- Proven success managing multiple crews and large portfolios of work
- Strong understanding of landscape maintenance, enhancements, plants, irrigation, and equipment
- Confident decision-maker who balances quality, efficiency, and profitability
- Skilled communicator who earns trust with crews, peers, and clients
- Comfortable using technology, mobile tools, and Microsoft Office
- Known for integrity, follow-through, and leading by example
