Insero Talent Solutions is recruiting a Staff Accountant for a well respected non-profit organization in Rochester, NY.

Position Overview:

This position is part of a team that is a catalyst for the commercial construction community in our region, connecting and serving all our members to build a greater Rochester. Our mission is to deliver our members education, programs, and services to grow their businesses and the local community.

The Staff Accountant supports the financial operations of many of the associations we manage by assisting with day-to-day accounting functions, financial reporting, and compliance activities. This role works closely with the Accounting Manager and helps ensure accurate financial records for association operations, member programs, training initiatives, and industry-related funds.

The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented, dependable accounting professional who is eager to grow their career while supporting the mission of our association. This individual must be comfortable working in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment, possess a positive and curious attitude. Candidate will be successful in this role if you love developing relationships, thrive on data and are good with details.

Roles and Responsibilities:

· Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoice processing, member billing, and payment tracking

· Record financial transactions in the general ledger

· Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes

· Assist with bank, credit card, and account reconciliations

· Maintain accurate financial records for events and special programs

· Prepare basic financial reports and schedules for internal review

· Prepare Quarterly Sales Tax Returns

· Support budget tracking and expense monitoring

· Assist with audit preparation and provide documentation as requested

· Ensure compliance with internal controls, association policies, and applicable regulations

· Maintain organized financial files and documentation

· Provide general accounting and administrative support to the Accounting Manager as needed

· Ability to attend events after hours as needed

Qualifications:

· Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)

· 1–3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred

· Familiarity with nonprofit or association accounting is a plus

· Basic understanding of GAAP principles

· Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office

· Strong attention to detail and accuracy

· Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines

· Strong organizational and communication skills.
