RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES:

1. Perform day-to-day processing of account payable transactions in a timely manner, ensuring that appropriate discounts are taken. Includes verifying 3-way match, coding, entry, scanning and filing invoices.

2. Ensure all documentation meets requirements. Follow up with individuals from appropriate departments as needed (i.e., maintenance, laboratory, engineering, purchasing, etc.).

3. Work directly with Vendor as needed to resolve issues.

4. Prepare and process weekly payments.

5. Review and process employee expense reports.

6. Assist with monthly review of goods received but not yet invoiced.

7. Support the month end close process.

8. Work through ERP system changes in the next 1-2 years.

9. Maintain confidentiality pertaining to duties.

10. Adapt to changing business needs, evolving accounts payable processes, and new responsibilities resulting from automation, system enhancements, and organizational initiatives.

11. Perform overtime as needed and other duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

EDUCATION Associates/bachelor’s degree in accounting is ideal. Minimum 1 – 2 years of accounting classes.

EXPERIENCE 3+ years of experience working in accounts payable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES Experience in data entry required. Experience with Microsoft Office and Excel is needed. Ability to learn quickly and work under minimum supervision. Self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills, problem solving ability, organizational skills, accuracy, speed, and attention to detail. Must be comfortable in a manufacturing environment and working with individuals across the company as well as vendors.
Ability to adapt to evolving job responsibilities, changing priorities, and new technologies.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED Computer with various software programs, scanner, and copier.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Hand-eye coordination for typing.
