Job description

SUMMARY

The Transportation Account Manager (AM) manages a book of renewal business within the transportation/trucking line andassistsin new businessacquisitionand processes. Provides professional and courteous service to clients, carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and HUB colleagues. Supports Producers and Account Executives (AEs) in obtaining,maintaining, and expanding transportation business. Looks for opportunities to round accountcoverages. Processes workin accordance withHUB standard practices, policies, and procedures, and with applicable DOT/FMCSA regulatory requirements.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works closely with Producers, AEs, and other HUB staff on all aspects of client service, marketing, and renewals for transportation accounts.

  • Responsible for overall retention of accounts in assignedbook of business. Owns the renewal process up to the point of presenting quotes to clients.

  • Handles preparation and implementation of all transactions, documentation, and internal processing for assigned accounts and ensures accuracy of data in HUB systems.

  • Orders and analyzes Motor Vehicle Records (MVRs) for drivers on assigned fleet accounts.

  • Requests andreviewsloss runs from carriers and prepares loss summaries for renewal marketing and client review.

  • Issues Auto ID Cards and Certificates of Insurance for transportation clients.

  • Prepares IFTA (International Fuel Tax Agreement) worksheets and supporting documentation for renewals.

  • Processes policy change requests, including additions and deletions of drivers, vehicles, and equipment.

  • Works with clients as claims liaison on issues. May also negotiate with underwriters and carriers. Troubleshoots claims and billing issues. Prepares and coordinates claims review with client, producer, and carriers.

  • Identifiesopportunities for cross-selling and rounding of accounts.

  • Understands clients' insurance and regulatoryobjectives(including DOT/FMCSA compliance) and critically analyzes and compares insurance plans todeterminesuitability, communicating findings to Producers and AEs.

  • Stays abreast of changes in the transportation/trucking insurance industry, DOT/FMCSA regulations, and other external conditions that mayimpactassigned clients.

  • Mayparticipatein or conduct client meetings.

  • Activelyparticipatesin Top 200 Account meetings, including Critical Path.

  • Handles accounting activities on assigned accounts.

  • Monitors accounts receivable on agency-billed transactions on assigned accounts.

  • Supports, mentors, and trains Assistant Account Managers asrequired.

  • Attends industry-related continuing education, training, and courses.

  • Travelson company business asrequired.

  • Prepares reports for management asrequired.

  • Other duties may be assigned as needsarise.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requisite insurance license.

  • At least 3 years' experience anddemonstratedproficiencyin an insurance account management role; transportation/trucking line experience preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.

  • Familiarity with transportation-specific processes such as MVR ordering, IFTA reporting, and DOT/FMCSA compliance preferred.

  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

  • Superior customer service and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiencywith automated agency management systems and Microsoft Office.
