Job description

SWBC is seeking a talented individual who will be responsible for managing the day-to-day execution of new commercial lines accounts from submission through bind. This role partners closely with producers, carriers, and internal teams to deliver accurate, timely, and competitive insurance solutions. The position requires strong technical insurance knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.

Essential duties include the following:

  • Review and analyze new business submissions for completeness, accuracy, and underwriting suitability.
  • Market accounts to appropriate carriers to obtain competitive quotes aligned with client needs.
  • Prepare, negotiate, and present professional proposals to producers and/or clients.
  • Bind coverage, issue policies, and coordinate delivery of policies and required documents.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for underwriters on assigned new business accounts.
  • Respond to carrier inquiries and provide underwriting information in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with producers to clarify coverage needs, risk details, and client expectations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients and prospects regarding coverage options, timelines, and requirements.
  • Assist with explaining coverage terms, exclusions, and recommendations in plain language.
  • Ensure all client and carrier communications are accurately documented.
  • Ensure all required underwriting information, applications, and supplemental forms are obtained and properly filed.
  • Maintain accurate records in the agency management system.
  • Adhere to agency procedures, carrier requirements, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Stay current on carrier appetite, forms, and coverage changes.
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows, accuracy, and turnaround times.
  • Support team goals by meeting service standards and deadlines.


Serious candidates will possess the minimum qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalency required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in commercial lines insurance within the independent agency channel, preferably in an Account Manager or New Business role, with demonstrated knowledge of multiple carriers' underwriting guidelines.
  • Strong working knowledge of commercial coverages such as General Liability, Property, Auto, Workers' Compensation, Umbrella, Cyber, and Management Liability Lines.
  • Active Texas General Lines (P&C) license required (or ability to obtain within a specified timeframe).
  • Proficient in agency management systems, with experience in AMS360 and ImageRight strongly preferred.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize competing deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
  • Client-focused mindset with a commitment to service excellence.
  • Problem-solving skills and sound judgment in underwriting and placement decisions.
