Title: Account Manager

Department: Sales

Reports to: Sales Manager

Status: Salaried Exempt

Primary Function

The Account Manager is responsible for growing sales and contact base within their assigned territory by visiting and calling on customers, prospects, and leads in their specialized market. An Account Manager is also responsible for receiving, processing, and recording customers' orders with interaction with Company team members who support the ordering, delivery, and billing process.

Requirements
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Ability to travel minimum of 5 days a quarter
  • Possesses 3-5 years of consultative sales related experience
  • Must have ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint at a high level
  • Speaks confidently and articulately in front of a group
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective team member
  • Demonstrate the ability to think both analytically and creatively
  • Possess strong problem-solving skills
  • The ability to communicate confidently, clearly, and effectively in front of groups
  • Inbound/Outbound phone work: Requires ability to continually sit with frequent hand use and finger dexterity. Continuous ability for near/far vision and hearing.
  • Customer Visits, Travel, Trade shows: Frequent standing/walking/lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs. without assistance. Occasional hand use, arm reach; need to kneel/squat. Continuous ability for near/far vision and hearing.
Summary
  • Schedule outside sales visits and process outbound calls to market product sales; identify needs and opportunities; and find solutions for costumers
  • Prospect, lead generations, follow- up, expand territory by growing contracts in other departments
  • Receive customers' calls, faxes and emails and provide quotes and/ or information about products & services; processes concerns/ problems; and enter orders using company systems
  • Attend trade shows and set up booth and markets products
  • Attend computer and customer process training
  • Train new employees in processing customer accounts as needed
  • Open accounts for customers by creating new records in database
  • Track the disposition of customer deliveries
  • Cross sell and up-sell to all customers
  • Provide the customers with the opportunity to receive a sample, promotional product or evaluation order and follow- up in a timely manner to close sale
  • Troubleshoot work-related problems by sharing new ideas with other team members and supervisors and take responsibility for and ownership of departmental success
  • Refer customer with estimate shipping costs
  • Introduce/ discuss our top product lines to every customer
  • Work with all company departments/ teams to facilitate customer solutions: Manufacturing, Resource, Accounting, Returns, etc.
  • Attend new and existing products training and team meetings
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance
  • Work safely to prevent on-the-job injuries by following ergonomic guidelines
  • Actively contribute to maintaining a strong team and spirit and positive work environment
  • Provides direction and assist the Assistant Account Managers reporting to them
  • High activity level in all sales activities
  • Attend all required trainings
  • Reliable and organized
  • Actively adds contracts, departments, and accounts to our database by prospecting
