How you'll add value...

Reporting to the Vice President, Commercial, Sample Repository Services, the Transportation Sales Specialist will be responsible for driving bookings and revenue growth for Azenta's transportation and relocation services across the United States. This role will partner with new and existing customers to position Azenta's mobile biorepository solutions, specialized transportation capabilities, and rigorous processes that protect sample identity, integrity, and chain-of-condition throughout each engagement. Key markets include academic institutions, pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations, government agencies, and third-party logistics providers supporting sample relocation and transportation needs.

What You'll Do...

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of the sample management services business and our transportation capabilities, understand customer needs, and identify how our solutions can address those needs.

  • Develop new business opportunities within the pharma/biopharma and academic markets within your assigned specialty of relocation and transportation.

  • Leverage existing Azenta relationships with pharma/biopharma and academic clients to drive additional bookings for new growth opportunities.

  • Organize and deliver capability presentations to existing and prospective customers, highlighting Azenta's transportation, relocation, and broader portfolio of services and products.

  • Conduct prospecting and cold-calling activities to generate new leads and follow up on marketing-driven opportunities.

  • Manage the creation and follow-up of sales-related documents with the Sales Operations team.

  • Work in partnership with the territory-based sales account managers and Project Management organization to provide comprehensive client management.

  • Manage and maintain customer opportunity information in Salesforce CRM in a timely and accurate manner, including regular weekly updates and cleanups.

  • Develop bi-weekly forecasts and prepare quarterly business reports aligned with management needs.

  • Achieve and exceed annual sales goals by working closely with the Manager to deploy predefined territory strategies focused on growth of new business/services.

  • Coordinate with the broader SRS sales team to support cross-selling opportunities related to informatics, storage, and complementary sample management services.

  • Promote Azenta's broader portfolio in collaboration with the Azenta commercial organization.

  • Develop and expand strategic customer relationships, with a focus on growing Azenta's presence within top pharmaceutical and biotechnology accounts.

What You'll Bring...

  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in a science-related field preferred.

  • Minimum of three years of proven sales experience in life sciences, cold-chain logistics, cold-storage transportation, or a related field.

  • Experience using Salesforce or a similar CRM platform.

  • Understanding and practical application of structured selling methodologies, such as Miller Heiman or Korn Ferry.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong business acumen, decision-making ability, analytical skills, and organizational discipline in a fast-paced commercial environment.

  • Consultative approach to managing client relationships and demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to clearly communicate Azenta Life Sciences' sample management and transportation services during in-person customer meetings, virtual presentations, and teleconferences.

  • Enthusiastic, adaptable, and solutions-oriented when addressing new challenges and customer needs.

  • Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and accountability for achieving business results.

  • Applies critical thinking, active listening, and sound judgment to customer conversations and sales opportunities.

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple sales opportunities, shifting priorities, and competing deadlines.

  • Willingness and ability to travel to client sites, trade shows, conferences, and internal business meetings as required.

  • Valid U.S. driver's license required; ability to travel domestically and, when needed, internationally.

Your Working Conditions:

  • Willing and able to travel overnight within the United States for customer meetings, internal business meetings, seminars, trade shows, and conferences. Expected travel is approximately 50% to 60%.

  • Must reside within the assigned sales territory.

United States Base Compensation: $98,000.00 - $117,000.00

The posted pay range for this position is an estimate based on current market data and internal pay structure. Final compensation may vary above or below this range depending on factors such as experience, education (including licensure and certifications), qualifications, performance, and geographic location, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
