Account Internship information

What is an Account Internship?

An Account Internship is a temporary position, often held by students or recent graduates, that provides hands-on experience in managing client accounts within organizations such as advertising agencies, marketing firms, or financial institutions. Interns typically assist account managers with day-to-day tasks like client communication, project coordination, and preparing reports. This role offers valuable exposure to the industry, helps interns develop professional skills, and can serve as a stepping stone to a full-time account management position.

What kinds of projects and responsibilities can I expect during an Account Internship, and how do they support my learning and development?

During an Account Internship, you can expect to assist account managers with tasks such as preparing client presentations, conducting market research, managing project timelines, and communicating with internal teams. These responsibilities are designed to expose you to the day-to-day operations of account management, provide hands-on experience with client interactions, and develop your organizational and communication skills. Many interns also gain experience using industry-standard tools and software, which can be valuable for future roles. This exposure not only builds your technical skills but also helps you understand the collaborative nature of agency work, laying a strong foundation for potential full-time opportunities in account management.

To thrive as an Account Intern, you need foundational knowledge in accounting principles, attention to detail, and proficiency in basic financial analysis, often supported by coursework in accounting or finance. Job description

Sales Trainee Internship Program

We are looking for ambitious, career-minded people to join our team as a sales trainee in our internship program. The training provided by this program allows the candidate to grow within the company and eventually manage their own sales territory, or perhaps even move into a management position. Team up with a leader to make a difference!

Chicago Tube and Iron Company is a leader in metals distribution and fabrication, with 8 locations primarily throughout the Midwest. Established in 1914, CTI has an impressive record of growth and profitability, with more planned in future years. At Chicago Tube and Iron, we like to think of ourselves as a company that is big enough to offer financial strength and stability, but yet small enough to quickly change direction when the market calls for action. Our sales and operations teams share their expertise to provide consistent reliable customer service.

Dates of Internship Program | Monday, May 18th - Friday, August 7th*

Monday-Friday | 8:00AM-5:00PM

(dates may vary based on candidate's availability)

Experience You Will Gain:

The Intern will learn every aspect of our business, from operations to sales. The successful candidate will take part in a compensated internship program, and will spend time developing skills in each of the following areas:

  • Operations
  • Administration and process flow
  • Account management
  • Administrative/ Management Services (IT, Accounting, etc.)

The Intern will gain a thorough understanding of the products and value-added services CTI provides to customers, making CTI a vital link in their supply chain. The Intern will gain competencies in the key areas of our business: operations, order processing, quality, customer service, and sales, with an emphasis on selling skills.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate must be enrolled in their sophomore+ year in college, earning a Bachelor's degree in a field related to their internship. Must have solid computer skills, with experience in the use of Microsoft Office; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. This individual must also be able to demonstrate strong analytical and communication skills.
