ThompsonGas Delivery Manager

The Delivery Manager is accountable for effective and efficient planning, routing and data clean-up for all deliveries within their area of responsibility. This position works closely with the management team to ensure superior customer service through on-time deliveries while maintaining, and continually improving the operational efficiency of all truck/driver combinations. The Delivery Manager will be proactive in leading continuous improvement in all aspects of truck utilization and delivery timeliness.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Strong people management and logistics/routing experience.
  • Analytical skills to assess and drive improvement in productivity metrics.
  • Outgoing personality with strong interpersonal skills including strong persuasion & influence skills.
  • Ability to analyze customer accounts regarding methods of delivery scheduling and make changes to promote delivery efficiency on a daily basis.
  • Work closely with the management team to reduce/eliminate OT and work within the Branch budgeted for personnel and vehicle expense.
  • Partner with management team to monitor and streamline processes to reduce delivery costs, while increasing delivery efficiency, quality and all key metrics.
  • Manage order prioritization to improve/maximize customer service with a focus on high priority/high quality customers.
  • Utilize routing technology to ensure most effective routes are built.
  • Review accounts for possible errors which can cause deliveries to be inefficient.
  • Participate in ongoing development of distribution tools, practices, and technology.
  • Work within CARGAS Energy and Tableau to review all deliveries for potential increases in delivery metrics.
  • Must be able to sit at a desk for extended periods of time.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree a plus.
  • Previous experience in routing and delivery.
  • Previous Management/Supervisory experience.
  • Experience with CARGAS energy a plus.
  • Project Management or Process Improvement experience preferred.
  • Strong communication skills (both written & verbal).
  • Effective problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated business/financial acumen.
  • Demonstrated leadership qualities, able to motivate and develop people.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of logistics management and DOT regulations.
