Job description

Furniture Account Representative
Calgary, AB
About the Opportunity
Our client is a well-established national organization that continues to invest heavily in its commercial furniture business across Canada. They are seeking a Furniture Account Representative to drive business development, expand existing client relationships, and grow market share within their assigned territory.
This is an excellent opportunity for a consultative sales professional who enjoys building long-term client relationships, developing new business, and partnering with workplace designers, project teams, and manufacturers to deliver complete furniture solutions. You'll have the support of a national organization while maintaining ownership of your own territory and book of business.
If you're passionate about commercial interiors, workplace solutions, and helping clients create exceptional workspaces, we'd love to hear from you.
About the Role
As the Furniture Account Representative, you will be responsible for growing furniture sales within strategic, large, and mid-market accounts while actively developing new business opportunities throughout your territory.
Working closely with internal sales teams, furniture specialists, project support, and manufacturer partners, you'll serve as the subject matter expert for contract furniture solutions and guide clients through the entire sales process—from prospecting and relationship development through specification, project coordination, and installation.
This role combines strategic business development with account management, allowing you to build a strong pipeline while continuing to grow an established portfolio of clients.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new business opportunities within your assigned territory through proactive prospecting and networking.
  • Grow furniture sales within existing strategic, large, and mid-market accounts.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with end users, facility managers, procurement teams, architects, interior designers, contractors, and other industry partners.
  • Partner with internal sales teams to identify and convert furniture opportunities.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, workplace assessments, and solution-based sales discussions.
  • Manage projects from initial opportunity through quotation, specification, ordering, installation, and ongoing account management.
  • Collaborate with Furniture Application Specialists, Project Specialists, and Sales Support teams to deliver successful client outcomes.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline and forecast within Salesforce.
  • Develop annual territory business plans and consistently achieve revenue, gross margin, and growth targets.
  • Travel throughout your assigned territory to meet clients, attend project meetings, and visit manufacturer showrooms as required.
What We're Looking For
  • Minimum 5 years of outside B2B sales experience with a strong focus on new business development.
  • Commercial furniture, contract interiors, workplace solutions, office products, or related industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Experience managing commercial furniture projects and installations.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with senior decision makers and influence multiple stakeholders throughout the sales cycle.
  • Strong presentation, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with architects, interior designers, commercial real estate professionals, facility managers, procurement teams, and contractors is considered an asset.
  • Ability to understand workplace environments, take site measurements, and recommend appropriate furniture solutions.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and CRM platforms such as Salesforce.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Sales, Marketing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Why Join?
  • Join a respected national organization with a strong presence in the commercial furniture industry.
  • Manage your own territory and build long-term client relationships.
  • Work alongside experienced furniture specialists and project teams.
  • Competitive compensation package including bonus opportunities.
  • Comprehensive health and dental benefits.
  • RRSP/DPSP program.
  • Ongoing learning and professional development.
  • Career growth opportunities within a collaborative and supportive team.
