Job description

The National Accounts Commercial Area Manager (CAM) is a revenue-generating sales professional responsible for managing, retaining, and expanding Stellantis' strategic national commercial fleet accounts. This role is focused on maximizing growth within an existing portfolio of large commercial fleet customers through relationship management, account penetration, customer retention, and identification of incremental sales opportunities.

The National Accounts CAM develops and executes strategic account growth plans designed to increase vehicle sales volume, customer loyalty, product adoption, and overall account profitability. The role serves as the primary relationship manager for designated national accounts, partnering closely with fleet decision-makers, procurement leaders, upfitters, dealers, and key customer stakeholders to deliver value-added fleet and mobility solutions.

Working independently and collaboratively across the organization, the National Accounts CAM builds long-term executive relationships, conducts ongoing business reviews, identifies growth opportunities, and develops customized strategies that strengthen Stellantis' position within key commercial accounts. The CAM serves as a trusted advisor to customers while ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction, retention, and sales performance.

The successful candidate will operate with a high degree of autonomy, manage a portfolio of strategic national fleet accounts, and consistently deliver account growth objectives through proactive account management, customer advocacy, and expansion of Stellantis products, programs, and commercial vehicle solutions.

Key Responsibilities

 

Strategic Account Management & Growth

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of strategic national fleet and commercial accounts.
  • Develop and execute account growth strategies designed to increase vehicle sales, market share, customer retention, and profitability within assigned accounts.
  • Identify opportunities to expand Stellantis' presence through cross-selling, upselling, replacement cycles, and fleet lifecycle planning initiatives.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted business advisor for assigned customers.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with fleet managers, procurement leaders, operations leaders, business owners, and key decision-makers.
  • Conduct regular business reviews to evaluate account performance, customer needs, growth opportunities, and competitive threats.
  • Develop customer-specific growth plans aligned with customer business objectives and Stellantis commercial sales goals.

Customer Retention & Expansion

  • Protect and expand existing Stellantis business within assigned accounts.
  • Monitor customer purchasing activity, vehicle replacement schedules, fleet growth plans, and operational requirements to identify sales opportunities.
  • Identify risks to customer retention and proactively implement mitigation strategies.
  • Partner with customers to develop fleet acquisition, replacement, electrification, and mobility strategies.
  • Promote adoption of Stellantis fleet programs, connected services, Service Net offerings, incentives, and commercial vehicle solutions.
  • Collaborate with dealers, and internal stakeholders to improve customer satisfaction and drive incremental growth.

Customer Solution Development

  • Consult with customers regarding fleet optimization, vehicle lifecycle management, vocational applications, sustainability initiatives, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
  • Develop tailored recommendations and fleet solutions that support customer operational and financial goals.
  • Coordinate with commercial dealerships, fleet operations, finance, legal, customer experience, and supply chain teams to deliver seamless customer support.
  • Support customers through vehicle ordering, allocation discussions, production planning, delivery coordination, implementation activities, and issue resolution.
  • Leverage relationships with upfitters, bailment pools, and second-stage manufacturers to deliver complete commercial vehicle solutions.

Strategic Sales Planning

  • Develop account plans and forecasting strategies for assigned national accounts.
  • Analyze customer trends, fleet utilization patterns, market conditions, and competitive activity to identify growth opportunities.
  • Utilize CRM systems and sales analytics tools to monitor account performance, forecast volume, and track revenue opportunities.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop customized solutions and customer business cases.
  • Support annual business planning activities and long-term sales growth initiatives.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with marketing, operations, finance, customer experience, product planning, and dealer network teams to optimize customer outcomes.
  • Advocate for customer needs while balancing organizational priorities and business objectives.
  • Provide customer insights, industry feedback, and competitive intelligence to support commercial sales strategies and future product initiatives.
  • Support national and regional sales initiatives, product launches, customer events, and commercial sales programs.
  • Collaborate closely with National Accounts Business Development Managers to ensure smooth transitions of newly acquired customers into long-term account management.

Industry Representation

  • Represent Stellantis at customer meetings, fleet industry conferences, trade shows, business associations, and commercial vehicle events.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of fleet industry trends, emerging technologies, sustainability initiatives, vocational applications, and customer requirements.
  • Enhance Stellantis' reputation and customer relationships across key commercial market segments.

Stellantis Value Creation Program (VCP) Execution & Forecast Management

  • Drive value creation initiatives across Fleet Sales by identifying process improvements, developing business cases, and executing initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction, operational effectiveness, and financial performance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across sales, operations, finance, and related functions to implement value creation opportunities, track outcomes, and ensure successful delivery of strategic business objectives.
  • Support the execution of Stellantis' Value Creation Program (VCP) initiatives by identifying, validating, and tracking revenue, volume, and profitability opportunities within assigned accounts and territories.
  • Partner with leadership to provide timely and accurate shipment actuals, monitor initiative performance, and ensure VCP benefits are reflected in business results.
  • Maintain ownership of account forecasts, proactively updating volume projections, opportunity pipelines, and recovery plans as market conditions, customer demand, or shipment performance changes.
  • Deliver disciplined reporting and accountability for VCP commitments, ensuring forecast accuracy and alignment to enterprise targets.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in account management, fleet sales, commercial sales, automotive sales, customer relationship management, or B2B sales
  • Proven track record of growing and retaining large commercial, fleet, or national accounts
  • Experience managing complex customer relationships and achieving revenue growth objectives
  • Strong relationship-building, consultative selling, negotiation, and strategic account management skills
  • Demonstrated success identifying and executing account expansion opportunities
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive engagement skills
  • Strong analytical, financial, and strategic planning capabilities
  • Self-motivated with demonstrated ability to achieve business objectives under minimal supervision
  • Proficiency with Salesforce, CRM systems, sales analytics tools, and Microsoft Office applications
  • Must live or be willing to relocate to a state within the East Region territory which it will cover (FL, GA, AL, SC, NC, TN, KY, VA, WV, MD, DE, PA, DC, NJ, NY, CT, RI, MA, VT, NH, ME).
  • Willing and able to travel up to 60% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA or advanced business degree
  • Experience in automotive, fleet, transportation, mobility, logistics, or commercial vehicle industries
  • OEM field sales experience supporting commercial, fleet, government, or vocational vehicle customers
  • Knowledge of fleet operations, procurement processes, leasing structures, and fleet lifecycle management
  • Experience working with national purchasing organizations, dealers, and large commercial fleets
  • Commercial vehicle product expertise, including vocational and upfit applications
