A day-in-the-life of aFleet Dispatcher

As aFleet Dispatcher, you will dispatch calls for emergency roadsideassistanceto members and/or club fleet personnel via radio, telephone or electronically.You will receive and manage calls related to emergency and/or commercial road service,utilizinga computer aided call processing system. Performing geographical location spotting and map reading, you will provide detailed instructions to Fleet Service or contracted personnel todeterminemember/customer location.

In this role, you willalsohave the opportunity to:

  • Monitor dispatched calls andtakeaction to resolveand correct serviceor other potential problems
  • Handle driver/customer escalationsin accordance withestablished procedures
  • Provide explanations to customersand reports/documentservice issues
  • Closeservice requestsusing company electronic dispatching system
  • Accept payment from members/customers, when necessary
  • Reconcile and resolve rudimentary payment issuesandmaintainrelated records and files
  • Assistcoworkers and less-tenured dispatchers,as necessary

Please Note:This position is NOT hybrid and will report to a fleet location every day.

We are looking for candidates who:

Education

  • Have ahigh school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience

  • Able to accuratelynavigate through computer systems andinput information into various fields using astandard computer keyboard
  • Can performbasic mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, percentages,etc.
  • Prior experience managing and resolving customer issues
  • Preparation ofwritten communications (e.g.responding to customer inquiries)
  • Have a basic understanding of geography andcanprovide directions
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others over the phone or in-person, anddemonstrateeffective listening skills
  • Experienceworking in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of policies and procedures (service benefits)relativeto emergency road service
  • Reading andcomprehendingvarious Customer Care service tools (e.g.manuals, work models,etc.)
  • Experiencedispatching calls
  • Call center environmentexperience

Work Environment
