The 3rd shift Production Supervisor is the senior site leader for 3rd shift and is hands-on, working with their team on an assembly, manufacturing or fabrication line.   Results are attained by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures. 


The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. 
  • Maintain training documentation for all 3rd shift employees. 
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process, observing control points and equipment, monitoring personnel and resources, studying methods and raising issues. 
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel to accomplish work results, communicating priorities, monitoring progress, resolving problems and reporting results of the shift on a production summary. 
  • Maintains quality by following and enforcing established standards, including first piece inspections, buddy checks, defect awareness and various other audits. 
  • Communicate equipment maintenance concerns through work orders, email, and face-to-face discussions. 
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data; answering questions and responding to requests. 
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources; maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures. 
  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action. 
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed. 
  • Allocating daily available people resources to the most important priorities. 
  • Planning and determining training needs.

Relevant Work Experience:
Working as a site leader or supervisor over 15 - 25 people for a minimum of 3 years.  Forklift, press brake, spot welder, punch press, laser cutter and assembly line experience a plus. 


 Work Schedule: 

  • 3rd Shift 9:00 pm Sunday night - 5:00 am Friday Morning (20 minute paid working lunch) Subject to Change
  • Occasional overtime is required

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

As part of your job, you should be able to fill in for any position on the shift and train, complete the work, or backfill a person who is absent.  In this role, you should be able to perform the following: 

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking. 
  • Lifting: Frequently lifting items weighing 5 lbs. to 60 lbs.; occasionally team lifting items weighing up to 100 lbs. 
  • Walking: Frequent walking short distances (less than 1/8 mile). 
  • Carrying: Occasional carrying of bulky items weighing up to 50 lbs. short distances. 
  • Pushing: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances. 
  • Pulling: Use of manual hand truck and carts to occasionally move skids or parts short distances. 
  • Bending: Occasional bending required to perform a variety of tasks. 
  • Reaching: Frequent reaching to load and unload parts from fixture, tubs, carts, or pallets. 
  • Handling: Frequent handling of parts ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 60 lbs.
