Director of Pharmacy
Position: Full-Time
Salary: $187,000-$210,000 per year
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM
Location: Oakland, CA
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy to oversee operations across two FQHC Community Health Centers in Oakland, California that focus on providing health services to the BIPOC community. Serving as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC), this role combines leadership, operational oversight, and a deep commitment to community healthcare. The Director will lead the Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee, manage the 340B Drug Pricing Program, and ensure compliance with all federal and state regulations while mentoring a dedicated team.
The FQHC Community Health Clinic has been in operation for over 20 years and offers Mental Health, Primary Care Medical, Physical Therapy, & Dentistry services to the BIPOC community.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead day-to-day pharmacy operations and maintain compliance with California Board of Pharmacy and HRSA standards.
  • Serve as PIC for audits, licensing, and quality initiatives.
  • Direct the P&T Committee, ensuring safe and effective formulary management.
  • Oversee the 340B Drug Pricing Program with full HRSA compliance.
  • Mentor pharmacists, technicians, interns, and externs.
  • Ensure the pharmacy is in full compliance with Alameda County, Contra Costa County, California and Federal regulations
  • Manage procurement, inventory, and medication storage.
  • Collaborate with providers to optimize medication safety and cost efficiency.
  • Support educational and outreach programs within the community.

Requirements
Requirements:
  • PharmD or BPharm from an accredited institution.
  • Active California Pharmacist license.
  • Minimum 5 years of pharmacy experience; FQHC experience preferred.
  • Proven 340B Program management; prior PIC experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Spanish-speaking ability preferred.
