340B Program Pharmacy information

What is a 340B Program Pharmacy?

A 340B Program Pharmacy is a pharmacy that participates in the federal 340B Drug Pricing Program, which allows eligible healthcare organizations, such as hospitals and clinics serving low-income or uninsured patients, to purchase outpatient drugs at significantly reduced prices. These savings help covered entities stretch federal resources, improve patient care, and expand services. The pharmacy dispenses medications to eligible patients and ensures compliance with 340B regulations, including preventing duplicate discounts and diversion of drugs. Many 340B pharmacies are either part of the covered entity or contract pharmacies that work with them to deliver medications to patients.
