GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Intern will assist the Program Manager in the development and implementation of a bystander intervention program. In this internship, the student will learn the role of bystanders within the University and the available support services to UTRGV students. Under the guidance of the Program Manager, the intern will work on assigned projects that will teach important skills that can be transferred tot he classroom and career.
ESSENTIAL TASKS:
- Assist in program development;
- Assist in development and delivery of presentations to students, faculty and staff;
- Assist in the recruitment of students;
- Assist planning and scheduling of meeting with University departments, community agencies and other professionals;
- Assist in designing brochures and flyers to promote the bystander program;
- Assist with the distribution, compilation, and analysis of assessment materials;
- Assist in compiling ideas for a website to promote the bystander initiative
Discipline Specific Required Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled at the University of Texas- Rio Grande Valley, in good academic standing as a graduate student; must have a GPA of at least 3.0 and have at least two semesters remaining before graduation.
