Camp Cloud Rim | Park City, Utah

Do you spend your free time backpacking, hiking, or planning your next outdoor adventure? Want to get paid to share your passion while helping young people build confidence and resilience in the outdoors?

Girl Scouts of Utah is seeking experienced outdoor enthusiasts to join our team as a Backpacking Guide at Camp Cloud Rim near Park City, Utah.


Position Details


Backpacking Guide

Lead multi-day backpacking adventures for campers during the following sessions:

  • July 19โ€“23,2026
  • July 26โ€“31, 2026

Responsibilities include:

  • Planning and leading backcountry trips
  • Teaching Leave No Trace principles and outdoor skills
  • Ensuring camper safety and well-being in the field
  • Managing gear, route planning, and group logistics

Flexible Opportunity

Compensation: $150 per day


Requirements:

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • At least 21 years of age
  • Experience leading groups in outdoor environments/backpacking trips
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain before employment)
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Passion for mentoring youth and creating positive outdoor experiences
  • Previous camp, guiding, outdoor recreation, or youth leadership experience
  • Preferred but not required: Wilderness First Aid or First Responder (WFA/WFR)

Requirements for All Camp Staff

  • Pass a criminal background check, including sex offender registry and driving record checks.
  • Complete Youth Protection Training.
  • Obtain a Utah Food Handler Permit.
  • Follow all Girl Scouts of Utah policies and safety standards.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to providing exceptional experiences for campers.


Physical Requirements

  • Lift and carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Walk, hike, and work on steep, uneven terrain for extended periods.
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions, including rain, heat, and cold temperatures.
  • Live and work at elevations up to 9,200 feet.
  • Respond quickly and appropriately in emergencies.
