H2O Innovation is known for its state-of-the-art water and wastewater treatment systems as well as providing water and wastewater plant operations and maintenance management support across North America. H2O is seeking Certified Level 1 and 2 Water & Wastewater Treatment Plant Operators in the Central Interior of British Columbia. Work will consist of 12 hour days, 2 weeks on 2 weeks off shift-work (includes potential night shift-work) at a local gold mineFlights/travel, meals, and accommodations paid. Get your full year of pay, with only working less than half the year.
CONDITIONS

Overall remuneration including:

THE DAY-TO-DAY

Reporting to the Project Manager, the Water & Wastewater Plant Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Consistently offering professional, engaging and friendly service;
  • Ensures all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Supporting staff with the maintenance and operation of the treatment plants according to related Government standards;
  • Maintenance and operation of the filtering and chemical treatment process;
  • Maintain all related readings and documentation;
  • Keeping a daily log and documenting of analytical parameters;
  • Creation and completion of work orders for servicing and repairs;
  • Supporting operations staff with vacation relief;
  • Supporting with the purchase of goods and equipment, and maintain inventory;
  • Supporting with data entry and reports to government agencies, departments, and other organizations as required;
  • Compliance with all safety and sanitation policies;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other personnel and supervisors;
  • Support with the clients, vendors and engineers.
  • Shared on-call for emergency response
  • Training/support of other staff or on-site personnel

SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES DESIRED

Professional:

  • A minimum of Level 2 in Water/Wastewater disciplines is required;
  • Experience operating and maintaining Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and related equipment is required;
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate a dedication to the position and to the public services;
  • Computer literate with ability to use Microsoft Word, and Excel;
  • Valid Alberta Driver’s License required;
  • Must be able to perform on-call services on a rotational schedule;
  • Excellent and professional oral and written communication skills;

Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to):

  • Walking/standing/bending/reaching/pushing/pulling: Potential of 6-8 hr/day;
  • Computer work: Potential of 1-4 hours/day;
  • Driving: Potential of 4-6hr/day;
  • Physical Effort: does not lift weights more than 50 lbs;
  • Environmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside.
  • Work Environment:
  • Work is performed indoors and outdoors in sometimes harsh weather conditions.
