Leads an IAM AuthN/AuthZ-focused engineering, automation, and data function responsible for identifying, prioritizing, and delivering AI-enabled automation, data engineering, and workflow modernization opportunities. Transforms manual and data-intensive IAM processes into scalable, governed, technology-driven solutions that improve productivity, operational effectiveness, control execution, reporting quality, and speed of delivery. Partners with business, technology, architecture, security, risk, and compliance leaders while guiding engineers and analysts through solution design, delivery, and adoption.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies, assesses, and prioritizes high-value automation, AI augmentation, and data engineering opportunities across IAM operations, engineering delivery, reporting, and control execution.
  • Leads a small engineering and automation function responsible for designing, developing, deploying, and sustaining repeatable solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational effectiveness.
  • Develops pilots, proofs of concept, and scalable implementation plans for AI-enabled workflow automation, agentic capabilities, analytics, and engineering productivity solutions.
  • Partners with various IAM engineering teams, architecture, cybersecurity, risk, compliance, and business stakeholders to translate operational problems into secure, supportable technical solutions.
  • Builds and improves data pipelines, dashboards, metrics, and insights that increase visibility into IAM operations, delivery performance, data quality, controls, and service health.
  • Automates repetitive engineering, reporting, evidence-gathering, and operational workflows to improve quality, consistency, auditability, and speed of delivery.
  • Establishes reusable engineering patterns, automation standards, documentation practices, and governance expectations for AI, data, and workflow automation solutions.
  • Ensures solutions incorporate security, privacy, risk, regulatory, and auditability requirements by design, including appropriate controls, approvals, monitoring, and evidence retention.
  • Manages, develops, and coaches developers, automation engineers, analysts, and technical contributors, setting clear expectations for delivery, collaboration, operational accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicates opportunities, progress, risks, dependencies, and measurable outcomes to senior leaders and partner teams, helping shape IAM automation strategy and delivery priorities.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and work experience in cybersecurity, information technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in security engineering or related cybersecurity roles.
  • Strong expertise in cybersecurity principles, threat modeling, security testing, and penetration testing.
  • Experience with information security technologies, configuration management, and operational handoff.
  • Advanced management and leadership knowledge to manage multiple teams and drive operational security initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CEH).
  • Experience with security automation and orchestration tools.
  • Experience in a development environment leveraging CI/CD tools such as GitLab SaaS
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, CSR 2.1, GDPR, HIPAA).
  • Familiarity with emerging cybersecurity technologies and trends.
  • Prior experience in a technical security engineering role within enterprise environments.
