Position Type: District/Hearing Impaired Teacher Date Posted: 6/30/2025 Location: Districtwide Date Available: 08/25/2025 Brookfield Public Schools is seeking a Part Time Hearing Impaired Teacher Location: Brookfield Public Schools Position Type: Part-Time (One Day a Week) About Us: Brookfield Public Schools is committed to providing an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students. We are currently seeking a qualified Hearing Impaired Teacher to join our team on a part-time basis. This position will involve working one day per week to support students with hearing impairments in their educational journey. Job Description: The Hearing Impaired Teacher will be responsible for providing direct instruction and support to students with hearing impairments, ensuring they have equal access to the curriculum and opportunities for academic success. This role will involve collaborating with other educators, providing tailored instruction, and creating an inclusive classroom environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with students with hearing impairments and a commitment to fostering their independence and educational growth. Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group instruction for students with hearing impairments.
  • Use specialized communication techniques, such as sign language or speech reading, to support students' learning.
  • Work with classroom teachers to ensure students with hearing impairments are included in all aspects of the classroom environment.
  • Monitor and track student progress, making adjustments to teaching methods as necessary.
  • Communicate with parents and caregivers regarding student progress and any additional support needed.
  • Collaborate with other special education staff and support professionals to meet the needs of students.
Qualifications:
  • Must hold a valid Connecticut Certification 057: Hearing Impaired, PK-12 endorsement.
  • Experience working with students who are hearing impaired or have related disabilities is preferred.
  • Knowledge of communication strategies such as sign language, speech reading, and assistive technology.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and parents.
