Position Summary

The Warehouse Supervisor oversees the daily operation of the warehouse and provides direct supervision to warehouse personnel. This position serves as the primary floor leader responsible for ensuring safety, productivity, quality, inventory accuracy, and adherence to company procedures. The Warehouse Supervisor supports the Warehouse Manager by coordinating labor, training employees, monitoring performance, resolving operational issues, and ensuring daily warehouse activities are completed efficiently and accurately. This position maintains a strong hands-on presence within warehouse operations and serves as the first level of leadership for warehouse employees.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operational leader for daily warehouse operations, including receiving, put-away, inventory control, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, and quality control activities, and escalate issues to the Warehouse Manager as necessary.
  • Plan, assign, coordinate, and adjust daily work activities and labor resources to meet service levels, productivity goals, customer requirements, and changing operational priorities.
  • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing warehouse team through coaching, training, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Support employee accountability and development by providing performance feedback, documenting performance concerns, and participating in corrective action processes in partnership with the Warehouse Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
  • Assist with inventory management activities including cycle counting, discrepancy investigations, inventory troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Customer Service, and Accounting teams to resolve operational issues and support company objectives.
  • Assist the Warehouse Manager in developing, documenting, implementing, and training standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Act as backup to warehouse operations and perform warehouse duties when additional labor is needed.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, accuracy, and warehouse efficiency.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Three to five years of progressive warehouse, distribution, or logistics experience
  • Experience supervising or leading warehouse operations including receiving, inventory control, order fulfillment, shipping, inventory management, and material handling activities
  • Experience with cycle counting, inventory reconciliation, and inventory accuracy initiatives preferred
  • Forklift and material handling equipment experience preferred

Computer Skills

  • Experience with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 Supply Chain Management preferred
  • Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams
  • Experience utilizing reporting tools and warehouse productivity metrics preferred
