Job description

POSITION SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our Services team as a Subcontract Manager.  This role includes the strategic management of a category (or categories) of Vertiv Service subcontractors in the US. The correct candidate will determine need, source, select, and put contracts in place with subcontractors.  They will serve as customer interface to all subcontracted services inquiries and act as an escalation point for tactical service delivery issues.  This person will also support Vertiv growth initiatives by exhibiting the ability and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment and produce high-quality work.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Execute Service Contractor Agreement (SCA), Avetta Safety, and are trained to perform service on assigned equipment.
  • Manage and support new and existing service offerings as required by Vertiv Services sales including technical assistance, contract, time and material (T&M) bids/quotes and product service support presentations.
  • Establish and manage effective national coverage network for all Vertiv Services contract, T&M, and product upgrades.
  • Interface with internal sales, LBP's, customers, and end users to develop and communicate SOW to subcontractors.
  • Serve as LBP/customer contact for all subcontracted service delivery issues.  Includes problem identification, vendor communication, and customer corrective action response.
  • Manage strategic service partner performance using Performance Reports, Quarterly Business Reviews, and Corrective Action Requests based on Key Performance Indicators. 
  • Support VS marketing in maintaining price revisions for subcontracted services. 
  • Develop a segment review to include service partner strategy, performance profile by area, competitive landscape, profitability report, rationalization opportunities, and suggestions for improvement to be presented to executive management. 
  • Maintain positive, cooperative relationships with all service providers that enhances Vertiv's image in the marketplace.
  • After-hours escalation contact for Customer Resolution Center for alternative assignments.
  • Other duties & special projects as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Procurement, or equivalent.
  • 5 to 8 years contract management experience, procurement, and or related discipline and work experience. 
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Detail oriented, problem-solving skills, and ability to work with all levels within organization
  • Direct customer communication experience with strong customer service orientation.
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, and proven project leadership are essential.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work with minimum supervision
  • Oracle experience a plus.
  • Contract bid proposal experience a plus.
  • Commercial Mechanical and Electrical Contracting Service Industry experience a plus.
  • Understanding of critical space environments, service products, Vertiv LBP structure, and customers a plus.
  • Developed proficiency with Microsoft Office applications - Word, Excel, Power Point, Access

  • May have on-call responsibility (weekends, evenings, and holidays)
