Job description

We are seeking a Human Resources Payroll Manager to lead and oversee multi-jurisdictional payroll operations across the United States (including Ohio and Minnesota) and Canada. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate, timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with all federal, state/provincial, and local regulations.This individual will serve as a key resource to employees and leadership, combining technical payroll expertise with a strong customer service mindset and commitment to confidentiality.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. and Canadian employees (multi-state and multi-province)Ensure compliance with all applicable payroll laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirementsCalculate and validate payroll tax withholdings (federal, state, local, and provincial)Process payroll changes including new hires, terminations, compensation updates, and classificationsInvestigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, including timesheets, deductions, and pay adjustmentsPrepare, audit, and distribute payroll reports in a timely mannerMaintain payroll systems, records, and data integrityRespond to employee inquiries related to pay, deductions, and timekeepingPartner with Benefits on 401(k) administration and related reconciliationsTrack and coordinate employee leave in compliance with regional regulationsMonitor payroll-related financial data and ensure accurate reportingSupport and guide payroll staff as neededQualifications5+ years of payroll experience, including multi-state and/or international payrollStrong knowledge of U.S. payroll laws (including Ohio and Minnesota) and Canadian payroll regulationsExperience managing payroll compliance, tax withholdings, and reporting requirementsHigh level of accuracy, attention to detail, and confidentialityAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentStrong communication and interpersonal skillsTechnical SkillsExperience with payroll systems such as Dayforce (or similar platforms)Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting toolsSolid understanding of accounting, bookkeeping, and payroll reconciliation practicesStrong data entry and recordkeeping capabilitiesCore CompetenciesProblem-solving and critical thinkingStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesCustomer-focused mindset with strong internal stakeholder supportReporting StructureThis position reports directly to the SVP / Chief People Officer (CPO).
