Job description

Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Columbus, OH
Type: Full-time- Direct Hire
Compensation: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00
Work Model: Onsite - onsite
Hours: 40.0
Responsibilities
  • Organize and implement effective human resources operations
  • Support hiring, job descriptions, onboarding, payroll coordination, and benefits administration.
  • Manage employee records, personal leave tracking, and coordinate with HR platforms such as HR Butler and iSolved.
  • Partner with managers and senior leadership to create, update, and maintain job descriptions.
  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including posting open positions, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews.
  • Support new hire onboarding, orientation, and ensure understanding of company policies and procedures.
  • Handle payroll activities, update employee records, and process employee benefits and personal leave.
  • Assist with employee performance reviews, documentation, and employee relations issues.
  • Maintain company HR policies, ensure compliance, and support HR-related documentation and postings.
  • Develop and sustain salary bands, conduct market compensation reviews, and support competitive pay practices.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for HR questions and maintain organized HR files and records.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR, payroll, benefits, or employee administration experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, and TEAMS.
  • Experience with payroll processing, HR management systems, benefits administration, and employee records.
  • Working knowledge of federal, state, and local employment requirements.
  • Experience with iSolved, HR Butler, or similar HR/payroll platforms preferred.
  • High degree of confidentiality, discretion, professionalism, and integrity.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and sound judgment.
  • Ability to support managers with performance documentation, employee communication, follow-through, and discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, stay calm under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Friendly, approachable, and service-oriented demeanor.
  • Practical understanding of small-business operations and flexible support needs.
