Duties

The incumbent will provide professional and technical expertise to the ambulatory care center regarding implementation and maintenance of scanning in work units within HIMS/PBS and other services in the ambulatory care center utilizing any integrated systems which import images. Major duties include but are not limited to:

  • Prepares and sorts documents and records for scanning, ensuring that documents are ready for processing.
  • Scans documents into the appropriate patient's record using PC scanning hardware and prescribed software, following step-by-step policies.
  • Verifies that scanned images are legible and attached to the correct patient record, referring any unclear items to the supervisor for clarification.
  • Forwards any documents sent in error, incomplete, or in electronic formats outside routine scanning to a supervisor or designated technical staff for resolution.
  • Utilizes computer skills to carry out duties associated with transferring information and maintaining a record request file; be proficient in communicating standard procedures in a technical field, requiring extended training or experience, to perform such work as adapting equipment when this requires consideration of the functioning characteristics of the equipment being interfaced.

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00am-4:30pm
