Job description

Your day, out in the field

You roll out in a well-stocked service vehicle, start with a safety check, and head to a customer site. A dozer won’t start—no problem. You connect your laptop, read the codes, trace the fault in the electrical system, and make a clean, professional repair. After logging a clear, complete work order on your tablet, you swing by the yard to pick up parts for the next call. Along the way, you mentor a junior tech, pass along a tip on hydraulic diagnostics, and keep your truck spotless and inspection‑ready.

What you’ll take on
  • Repair and maintain complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems across a variety of rental and customer-owned equipment
  • Apply safe work practices at every step, from diagnosis to final test run
  • Use laptops and tablets confidently for diagnostics and documentation
  • Exercise a high level of independent judgment to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Train and support less-experienced technicians when needed
  • Complete accurate, same-day electronic work orders and records
  • Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment and parts
  • Travel to job sites as required for on-site service; maintain a clean, professional service vehicle
  • Leverage continuous, company-provided OEM training throughout the year
  • Pitch in on other duties as assigned
What helps you succeed
  • Heavy equipment repair experience
  • Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Comfort with heavy material handling
  • Readiness for field service work and travel
  • Knowledge of diesel engines and heavy equipment systems
  • Expertise with hydraulic components and circuits
  • Electrical systems knowledge and diagnostics for heavy equipment
  • Strong equipment diagnostics and problem-solving
  • Ability to read electrical schematics
  • Installation and wiring of equipment and accessories
  • Comprehensive equipment maintenance and repair capability
  • Familiarity with OSHA requirements (preferred)
